Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

So is this normal for May 1, or is this a little odd, even for here?

Here, we can have snow even around Memorial Day. Hang in there another month!

GinCar - Thats a pretty good amount of snow.

Here at work, in Lakewood, it is snowing a lot but only sticking to the grass.

The snow is already melting here.

DH has the day off and is watching brain rot television. :rotfl:

yesterday, I wore shorts and sunscreen, and today I'm wearing boots and a scarf. :rotfl: It's only sticking to the grass by us, but I was at Sky Ridge Medical Center this morning and the roads and parking lots were a slushy mess!

Hope, when I first moved here, it was snowing in late spring and I asked some co-workers, "when does it stop snowing?" Someone replied "June", and someone else quickly added "then it starts again in August!" :rotfl: It's wierd but you get used to it. Most days in May and September are nice, but you get the occasional snow like today. We get a lot of warm, sunny days throughout the winter, too, so it makes up for it, IMO! ;)

Congrats to Alex on the Math Olympiad win!!

I remember a few years ago when people where skiing on the 4th of July!

I live in Estes, so this is normal.
I just got back to my house. I am down to 2 inches of snow and clear streets and driveway. This is the kind of snow I like- no shoveling.:thumbsup2
I tell my kids- this is just Colorado rain and it insures we will have fireworks for the 4th.:yay:

:cool1: :thumbsup2 CONGRATULATIONS ALEX !!! :yay:

Barb, I remember visiting Denver one year and it was snowing on the 4th of July! We were shooting off firecrackers in Green Mtn. That was before it became a huge housing area.

I think I need to renegotiate my moving contract to include more flights to central FL. I was told Oct-Apr. :rotfl:

I will tell my favorite Mother's Day story, though it happened in MT, my mom says the day was similar here.

My girls birthday is May 14th, which means it falls on Mother's Day sometimes.

For Cassidy's 3rd, so 13 years ago, we went to church in parkas, scarves, mittens, the whole bit. When we came out sun was shining and we could take off a layer on the way to Chuck E. Cheese. When we went to the park we were in short sleeve shirts. A concert that evening and we were in shorts and using fans.

So we experienced all four seasons in one day!!:rotfl:

Theresa - that is hilarious!!!!

I could live without the wind today! I guess if it blows away this cold weather I can deal with it better, but I HATE wind.

I walked to work fighting the wind the entire time. Told the group waiting for me that Mother Nature was my hair dryer this morning:rotfl:

I remember one year we had a graduation party to go to and then a birthday party in Golden to go to. We were in shorts and tank tops at the graduation party and by the end of the birthday party (early evening 6 or 7) it was white out conditions. We didn't have coats or anything.

Sandy, I think I know which storm you are talking about. I was pregnant with Rachel at the time (very pregnant) and was home alone and the power ended up going out with the tree branches all breaking. I was in the basement and didn't have a flashlight. It was interesting trying to get back upstairs and find one. :)

Cristi, that very well could be the storm. We put in solar and the company was throwing us a huge BBQ/birthday party for our friends and family. Well, it ended up with them BBQ'ing in the garage.

Might be a cold night for camping tonight.....even in a 5th wheel. But it makes for good sleeping.

Well fun was had tonight White Fence Farm!!

It was great meeting everybody and I will download a corn fritter pic tomorrow!!:goodvibes
