Colorado Cruisers

Hi guys, back from camping. We belong to a private campground in Monument so we get away pretty much every weekend.

Crisi, you crack me up. Need a little mango rum do you?? Sounds like Elitches worked out pretty good for you. I have only been to the new one once. Can you believe that?

Val and Teresa, you talk about your babies growing old. Try me. My girls are 25 and out of the house. I remember back when they started kindergarten and I cried like a baby. Then I cried even harder when they moved out. It isn't fun!

Okay, I've been out of touch for a while (bite your tongue, Heidi) but here's my two cents:I see the black hoses around but most garden centers I go to have more green hoses. What are you planning to water on your cruise, anyway?
Biting my tongue this time, but that statement was hilarious. :rotfl2:

We are looking to spend a nice fall weekend in or around Grand Lake. Does anyone have a recommendation for accomodations? We don't want to camp (don't want a moose stepping on us), but a cabin would be okay. Thanks in advance.
Here is some places where the moose won't step on you, but the cabins are on the lake.
Lazy Moose Cabins
Columbine Cabins
Lemmon Lodge

Cristi - so how was your weekend? Did you feel the tension between the family members? We want dirt!!!!! I spent the weekend cleaning my house so I need to live through someone else's more exciting weekend!!!!

:wave2: Good Morning everyone!
Another sunny day in Colorado. Suppose to be hot again. UGH.

Tera-Tiffany had a good first day except she went to school expecting to get out at 10 but didn't get out until after noon. They are on a alternate schedule N and C days. She forgot that everyone but Seniors started on Thurday so Friday was her long day. Distric 49 here in the Springs does start really early. But they get out 2 weeks in Oct, Dec and March. We plan many of our vactions around that Oct break.

She was suppose to have her senior pictures on Thursday She his having a few of them outside. It took lots of calls between the photographer and the hair stylist to get the appointment made a month ago. Of course Thursday is the ONLY day it has rained all day so we had to cancel both appointments. Now that she is back in school it will be harder to cordinate the pictures.

Sandy-Is that campground the one right off the highway? We went right by there last week on our way to Castle Rock. I thought about you and Heidi there having fun. Had I know which trailer was yours I would have stopped in :wave2:

Barb

Barb - yes, that is my second home!!! You could have stopped by the store and asked what site we were in and they could have told you and directed you to us (they all know us since my sister married the owner's son!!!!) And I always have my cell phone, next time you HAVE to stop by!!!

Hi Heidi!!

Oh my goodness I didn't realize that Stacey was married to the owners son. Don't think you guys ever mentioned it before. How did she meet him? That sounds fun! I really think we should meet for breakfast or lunch when you are staying there. You are so close to me!

Barb

We met him at the campground, he use to work there. This is the last weekend we will be going camping this summer because my parents just have to take that 14 day Panama Canal cruise on DCL!!!!!! My mom and my plan for Friday is to go shopping at the Briargate shops, do you work close to there where we can meet up for lunch?

Barb - How I remember taking my senior pictures, so so long ago :cloud9: I hope she's able to get appts done soon. That was definitely a highlight of my senior year.

Sandy - Glad you had a good time. I bet it's nice having the campground so close. Do you guys have a trailer or do you use a tent?

Well as of tomorrow, I'm a working woman again after 10 years. I took a full time position at the school Katie goes to. It will be weird not having all that free time when they were in school, but hey, gotta earn some extra cash. Nick wants to do another cruise in 2007, so let the saving begin :teeth:

Teresa- Congratulations on going back to work. It is tuff to balance everything in your life but pretty rewarding. How lucky to get to work where your daughter goes to school! I would so like to cut down my hours at work. Only work 30 instead but between weddings, college and of course Disney I am stuck!

I got my hair cut and colored on Saturday so that threw off my entire weekend schedule. I usually clean my house for 4 hours on Saturday morning. I had to clean yesterday. I have so much unfinished business I need to take a few days off just to catch up!!

Heidi-Shops at Briargate has a lot of nice stores. I only have 30 minutes for lunch so I don't even bother to leave anymore. I am actually North of the shops. Next time you are on the highway if you see the Oracle building the Progressive building is behind it. (Twin looking buildings that have another building connecting them) not the little twin building but the huge ones.

Barb

Hi guys, busy day trying to tie up everything for the cruise. Still have tons more to do. Will it ever end?

Barb, missing you on the other thread. You have to pop in and support Heidi when I am gone.

Heidi, are you going to drive down on Thurs in your car?

The party went well. I didn't notice any tension between anyone (except my mom and dad and it was their anniversary :confused3 ). Of course I was busy making the mango rum drink for anyone who wanted it. I think that is my sister-in-laws new favorite drink. Now, Heidi, I just need to try it with the coconut rum. I swear I could go broke at the liquor store.

Awww, Cristi I was hoping you would have some good stories to share!!!! ;) Glad your weekend went off well.

Ya Barb where are you on our other thread, I'm going to need someone to talk to over there when everybody else is gone but you, your mom, me, Julie and Susan!!! Lately it has just been Denine, my mom and I!!!!

Mom- thats right I forgot I wouldn't have to drive. What do you think we should do?

Heidi, hate to say it but the cost of gas right now, I think you should just come down with us.

Good Morning

having a pot luck at work. I brought in my chocolate fountain and some fruit.

I am so tired today. Found out I have a bone spur on my heel so the Dr has me on some pretty heavy duty pain killers they are making me groggy. I am not use to being on medicine so it is hitting me hard. I have spent most of my life being pretty healthy, ever since I hit 40 all sorts of things happening. I am not liking it! Anyone know anything about bone spurs?

Barb

Barb, I have bone spurs and they wouldn't do surgery on the bone spurs just the plantar faschiitis. Stacey's father in law had them and he was lucky to have surgery. Guess it is up to the doctor as to how to treat them.

Hi Sandy!
Do the bone spurs ever go away? Do they have to cut open your foot if you have surgery?

Poor Barb. I am sure I will end up with Bone Spurs, thanks mom!!!! Your chocolate fountain sounds so cool!!!!

Let's just say mine haven't gone away. Don't know about the surgery and I have heard that they can break off. Good luck!

I had a bone spur on my foot/heel and it did go away. I don't know if it wasn't a bad one or if they all go away, but I have to say, it was painful. I got it when I was really in shape and jumping rope a lot. needless to say, that put a stop to that. I can't remember much. I know I went to the podiatrist, he said it was a bone spur and gave me drugs and about 6 months later it was gone (gradual). Hope you have good luck with yours.

Barb - I'm sorry about the bone spur. I hope it feels better soon. I can't image when kind of pain you must be going through.

Work the past couple of days has been good. It's amazing how much walking I do around the school and how exhausted I am when I get home. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to get up early and go to the gym before work.

Teresa - that is such dedication, I would never be able to work out before work...I am just not that dedicated!!! Plus I am at work at 6:00am so any earlier than that I would not be able to function.
