Hi Everyone!

I need some help with my color scheme. Some of you may have read my post yesterday about my relaxed, beach/tropical theme wedding. The ceremony is going to be on the beach at the GF and the reception will be held outside on the summerhouse patio and beach area.

I want a slight island/tropical theme incorporated into my wedding. (Jimmy Buffett, steel drum band, reggae music...you get the picture). For flowers, I know I want a mixture of orchids and calla lillies. However, I can not figure out what colors I want!!

What are some good colors for an island/beach theme? I'm trying to stay away from the "seaside blue" type theme. Anyone have any pics of their colors? Some ideas I came up with are:

-fuchsia and orange
-fuchsia and green
-green and orange

I have always been told that three colors are the best in any time of design. So a wedding would be the same. How about Fusia, Orange and green. I think that would be fun and whimsical. Alot of people go and get paint chips to look at the colors.

:thumbsup2 I think Fushia, orange and green would be a great combination! :thumbsup2
When I was picking colors I looked at paint chips too.:cutie:

Fuscia ,orange and green are a great combination.

HAHA Moonpie, you beat me to it!

A co-worker of mine had fushia and orange for his wedding. The bride's dress had a fushia sash and they used orange and fushia floral. It looked very tropical and pretty. I never would have thought of it as a color combination but seeing his wedding pictures, it looks really pretty.

I'm actually using fuschia and orange and think they would be perfect for a tropical theme. Adding the green would be pretty too. One of my bridal mags from about a month or so ago showcased a wedding with fuschia, orange, and green and it looked awesome. Very bright and cheery!

yes the fuchsia and orange would be very pretty! Or maybe add some coral in there- I have seen many bouquets in those colors- actually if you can find the thred with the dream wedding at disney they may have used those colors-

I really like fuchsia, lime and orange-

I agree with everyone!

You can also try incorporating white or green orchids. I am partial to green because it looks so beautiful against fushia and orange, but it really is your preference.

Orchids in your hair or bouquet can be very tropical & romantic at the same time!

I'm having a beach wedding and we're using purple, orange and green (dark shades though). When I was looking at bright colors I almost went with fushia, orange and green so I have to vote for that! :yay:
