Color Box Chalk

I just signed up for a class and one of the things on the material list is Color Box Chalk in Blue Iris - this is new to me - has anyone used this type of chalk and if so, is it different from standard hard chalk and how do you like it?

Is this what you are asking about? http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82082&PRODID=91263 If so, I've used it before and really like it alot. It is an inkpad but it does dry to look like chalk. Do you need the large pad or can you use the cat's eye pad (small and shaped like a cat's eye)? http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82082&PRODID=139202 The thing I like the most about the cat's eyes is I feel I have more control in the application than I do with a larger ink pad. I like that I can get smaller spaces without accidentally getting it on an area that I don't want the ink on. They are just fun to use and can be addictive- I feel like I "need" every color!

That's it! The class I'm taking has it on it's required material list so I'm off to buy it this weekend - I'm so looking forward to this class - I haven't taken one in a long time and the instructor is supposed to be great!

I LOVE love love, these stamp pads. They are truly the best for chalking and inking pages and elements. Never too much of the color and they're so inexpensive. Now, if I could just find a better way to store them...

thanks you guys. i have never heard of this type of ink pad. i have cat's eyes, but they are the pigment kind. does it really dry looking like chalk?
