I am taking my wife to WDW for her first time, and I myself haven't been in over 10 yrs.

We are scheduled to arrive at the airport at 6:05pm Monday the 15th of March and fly out the 19th at 11:50am.

We are currently looking at the following list of places to choose from to eat:

San Angel Inn(Mexico)

Biergarten(Germany) my wife wants bratworst(sp?)

Peco Bill Cafe

Crystal Palace

Columbia Harbour House

Hollywood and Vine(were thinking of a Fantasmic package here)

Sunset Ranch Market

Rainforest Cafe

We are also staying at the Pop Century Resort.

My questions are

1. I've heard lots of reports about noise problems at the PC....
What could we do to minimize this problem?

2. What are everyone's recommendations on eating from this list?

3. What kind of food budget should we look at given this list?

Also any suggestions for a couple married for almost a year, age 25, with one vet and one first timer would be helpful.

Thanks

We are scheduled to arrive at the airport at 6:05pm Monday the 15th of March and fly out the 19th at 11:50am.

We are currently looking at the following list of places to choose from to eat:

San Angel Inn(Mexico)~~~VERY romantic atmosphere! One thing to remember, the food is TRUE mexican, not the TEX/MEX stuff we are used to here in the US. I didn't enjoy my entree at all, but would go back again for desserts and appetizers! ::yes::

Biergarten(Germany) my wife wants bratworst(sp?)

Peco Bill Cafe

Crystal Palace~~~Hubby and I had breakfast here and enjoyed it immensely! :teeth: We were visited by the characters twice and NEVER felt rushed.

Columbia Harbour House

Hollywood and Vine(were thinking of a Fantasmic package here)

Sunset Ranch Market

Rainforest Cafe~~~Hubby and I dined at the one in Downtown Disney and the one in the AK. We prefer the one in the AK. Not as crowded and the service in my opinion is MUCH better! We did breakfast and what a WONDERFUL way to start the day at the AK than breakfast in the rainforest! :goodvibes

We are also staying at the Pop Century Resort.

My questions are

1. I've heard lots of reports about noise problems at the PC....
What could we do to minimize this problem?

2. What are everyone's recommendations on eating from this list? I answered the ones in which I've dined at above. Hubby and I did Hollywood and Vine too, but that was for breakfast and they don't do that anymore. :(

3. What kind of food budget should we look at given this list? Visit THIS SITE to get an idea on what you're going to be spending on food. It's a WONDERFUL site with menus and helped me and DH(DEAR HUSBAND OR DISNEY HUSBAND) a lot on our trip in 2001! :)

Also any suggestions for a couple married for almost a year, age 25, with one vet and one first timer would be helpful. Suggestions:
1. Have fun! That's the most important one when you're in Disney!
2. DO NOT try to see it all!! :faint: Why would you want to? By seeing only what you have time to see will give you more reason to go back. :hyper:
3. Which ever one of you is the vet, use it to your advantage by doing a couple of things: TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FASTPASS AND DO EE DAYS IF YOU'RE AN EARLY RISER. Hubby and I do EE days, because we like to be out of the parks by 1pm or even noon so we can rest for a few hours and return later in the evening for more fun! :teeth:
4. Ask questions within the parks if you don't know. Get a map and use it. Even though I don't need one now because I worked in the MK and had friends who worked in EPCOT and can navigate the parks with my eyes closed....., I still get a map because there is ALWAYS something new each time hubby and I visit and I DON'T want to miss it.
5. Finally, most importantly....RELAX! You're going to Disney and it's going to be just fine. Be sure to stop and see the small things while you're there. Hubby and I take the time to look at the flowers in EPCOT, the sculptures in the MK, the landscaping in AK, and just the little things in the Studios(MGM). It's amazing what you'll see when you stop to do it. Disney is not just about rides and food, there is SO much more!!! :jumping1:

Thanks

If you have any other questions just ask. I do hope that I've helped.

One more thing.....WELCOME TO THE DIS!!!!!!

You don't have top eat at Biergarten to eat great bratwurst. There is a walkup counter outside of Biergarten that has bratwurst, german ham, apple strudel, beer and black forest cake. It's cheaper and faster than going inside to Biergarten (which is a German buffet) and great fun to sit outside as It's set up as sort of a sidewalk cake. You can enjoy your meal and people watch.

San Angel Inn(Mexico) - we really like this restaurant, but a lot of people don't

Biergarten(Germany) my wife wants bratworst(sp?) - its a buffet. As stated, there is a counter service restaurant outside that might be better for budget (and lunch)

Peco Bill Cafe - love the chicken wraps. This is a great MK counter lunch spot - but gets very crowded.

Crystal Palace - haven't eaten here in years. Character meals with Pooh, you know (and I'd recommend a character meal)

Columbia Harbour House - haven't eaten here

Hollywood and Vine(were thinking of a Fantasmic package here) - haven't eaten here. We did fine without a Fantasmic package showing up about 30 minutes early for the show - and it gave us more flexibility - we ended up not eating where we planned and spending more time in the pool.

Sunset Ranch Market - never heard of this one.

Rainforest Cafe - My take on RFC is that its a chain restaurant - you can go to a RFC in almost every big city in the US. When at Disney I want to eat at restaurants that are only at Disney. The food is OK (we live near the one at the MOA and it becomes our default stop with kids when we go to Camp Snoopy).

Check the menu link above for an idea on budget. We used to travel with $100 a day for the two of us. It will depend on a lot of factors - even with your choice in restaurants. Three meals a day plus snacks - or one meal a day and snacks? Three courses per meal or an appitizer as an entree? Alcohol? Pop? Water? The most expensive steak on the menu, or the pasta dish? If you are looking to do sit down meals on a budget, I'd recommend the "breakfast bar in the room, light snack/lunch at 11:00 (as soon as counter service opens), late sit down lunch (last lunch seating is, IIRC, 3:00 pm) and a snack as you leave the parks.

I just got back from Pop Century a couple days ago and didn't notice it being all that noisy. We might have just lucked up. We stayed in the 50's section on the second floor. The only noise I ever heard were flushing toilets and that can't be avoided. Plus it's not like they flush non-stop. My boyfriend and I are both 20 and loved Pop Century. Hopefully you and your wife will also.
