Hey everyone

It’s been three years since my last trip to Disney with my boyfriend at the time. Now at 22, I’m going back but with five or six friends.
We’ll be traveling to the area Jan 8-15 and staying at my parents time share at westgatelakes resort and spa.
Do you have any tips on how to budget a cheap trip with five college students?
Maybe cheap taxis, restaurants, places to buy groceries, rent a car etc.

Also, we’ll be getting a one day park hopper pass at $136 since I doubt we’ll be able to afford a two day at $216… any suggestions on which attractions/ rides to fit on.. and on what day of the week?
I was thinking epcot at night but It’s stink to miss Fantasmic at MGM…this will be many of my friends first trip keep in mind.

Thank you soooo much!
Sarah

Get a ten pack of one day passes for donating $750 to the florida childrens hospital. http://www.fhfoundation.com/Disney/page5/page5.htm Thats enough for two parks per person at a cost of $150 to each person. Unfortunately the planet hollywood gift card that you would get with it will expire before your stay. You should know that these tickets cant be upgraded. So you cant add hopping to them. It costs slightly more than the one day hopper but at least you would be able to go to both epcot and hollywood studios.

Disneyland tickets are usually cheaper January to April, and you can probably get the promotion of "pay the price of a child's ticket" at the time you are looking at.

Good luck! :thumbsup2

But she has a timeshare in Orlando...

Do you live in Florida? Maybe you could get a resident rate? Like the Florida Resident Weekday Select Pass $174 and you could go during the week.

Otherwise: I would not buy a Park Hopper - you could buy two one day non-park hoppers for $162 + tax

No we're all from New Hampshire so we'll be traveling from Boston.

Will the parks be quiet then?
Also, should we skip Animal Kingdom? Is three parks do-able in 1 day?

We did four parks in one day once. We went on a Tuesday.

Got to Hollywood Studios for rope drop. Teens went and did RnR while I got fast passes for Toy Story Mania. I met up with them and we all did ToT (they actually had time to do it before RnR too). Then over to Star Tours.

From there we took the bus to AK and did Dinosaur and EE. Had lunch real quick and went back to Hollywood Studios for Back Lot Tour, Beauty & the Beast, Lights, Motors, Action and Indiana Jones.

From there we drove to MK and took the monorail to Epcot. Did Test Track, back on the monorail to MK where we did Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Small World (family must do) had some dinner and saw Wishes.

We ended up being in the parks from 9 am - 9 pm, and had a great time!

As far as car rentals go, to to www.mousesavers.com. There are lots of different codes for rentals. Another option is Priceline.

There are a lot of chain restaurants right on 192. I know there's a CiCi's pizza on International Drive too.

Have fun!

I really think you would be happier picking a park and committing to it. You are talking BEST case scenario 45 minutes to park hop for each park. That would be over 2 hours to hop.

Figure out what you all REALLY want to do and what you can afford and then decide what you are going to spend. Maybe you could all ask for tickets for Christmas...
