School is really hitting me hard this semester. I'm taking 17 hours like an IDIOT!!! But if I want to graduate on my 4 year plan, I have no choice!

I had almost 50 pages of reading last night in my Tues/Thursday classes! And that was handed out on the FIRST DAY OF CLASS! I'm only a Sophomore. I'm scared to think what lies ahead of me! It's so bad, I think I'm going to have to quit my Job at The Disney Store!:(

NOT to mention how bad the Parking is on Campus this semester. I have to leave 1 1/2 hours BEFORE my first class starts in order to PARK ON CAMPUS! Other wise, I'm parking and walking from like 6 or 7 blocks south of where the actual buildings start!!!

Just had to vent. Any other College Kids feeling my pain?

Hi,
I had this class last year that had a thousand pages of reading per week, and a quarter of it was in Italian - I thought I was going to die - I feel your pain babe - the key - SKIM! Just skim and read the first sentence of every paragraph. You'll have enough of an idea of what's going on to get by in class, and you were going to study for the tests anyway!
Good luck

i'm with dana -- skimming can really help when you get overloaded with reading. i took this one 19th century diplomatic history class (BORING -- and i like history!) where we had to read primary documents in addition to our textbook, i think it was like 500 pgs of reading/week for that one class. it kicked my butt until i started skimming. i ended up doing ok in the class. :)

good luck - you'll get through it. :)

Things aren't too bad so far...but within a month or so, I'll be going nuts! I like my American Studies class. :) Today we looked at photos of things related to the 50s and even watched clips of American Grafitti and Pleasantville. My classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays are so far apart that it's hard to get there on time. I just got the new schedule for my voice lessons, and it says mine are from 3-3:30 on Wednesdays. Ack! That gives me only 5 minutes to get to my next class which is all the way on the hill!

Haven't started class yet but I'm having a great time at orientation! :smooth:

I have 5 classes, one on M/W and the other 4 on T/Th. I am really enjoying them all and had three of my profs before, but the Pennsylvania course is giving me a challange. I am an El. Ed major and this is a Jr. level history course. I took it as an elective because PA is in the fourth grade curriculum and thought it was a good idea to know about my surroundings.....not sure if it was such a good idea.

The rest of the the classes are great...and lots of stuff I can get my own children involved in, especially Environmental Education.

Lots of projects though.....but this is the last semester of classes...then off to the classroom!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
