So its still a long way off for me, but I want to do the CP as a dancer/ performer in the parades/ shows. What is a typical day like for those that have this role? How many shows are you dancing in on a regular day? How many off days do you have? How long do you work per day? Do you have any other responsibilities other than performing? :goodvibes

Hi there! Just a question, but when are you wanting to do the CP? I'm planning on applying for Fall 2015, and want to audition for character performer (I'm a dancer as well). To answer as much of your question as I can, you have the opportunity to be in the parades, but that is only if they select you. All CP Character Performers are basically required to do fur, and if you et to do parades, it would be in addition to that.

Thanks! So if I audition to be a dancer in a parade or show, even if it isn't a fur character, I would also have to be a fur character like Lilo or Dug (just random ones I thought of)??? I would do Spring 2016 since my first semester would be in Fall 2015 :cool1:

Well, from what I gather, you will audition in a general CP audition, and then during that audition you might be pulled for the advanced dance combination. and then, depending on what 'casting' thinks of you, you ight be pulled to train for parades. :) It also depends on your height range. Being tall, I could never be pooh, or stitch, and characters like that. I am in the general range for characters like Eeyore, Tweedles, and such. So if you get pulled for character performer, you would be able to be friends with characters within your specific height range. That's cool! You know, you should keep an eye out for people on these boards who are wanting to do the college program and see if you can find anyone whos wanting to do it the same semester as you. You just might be able to find some future friends! Also, check out the future CPers thread on the college board. You can talk to some of us other future CPers there!

PP is right - CPs are hired into Entertainment to fill in shifts as M&G and Dining characters. It is very VERY rare for CPs to be trained in parades and even more rare for shows. And for those that are trained, they usually fill character roles in the parades and are not the movers.

When it does happen, typically the CP is on their second program, or they have told Casting that they are sticking around after their program. The best chance at a mover role is the halloween/christmas parade.

Just a word to the wise -- don't be disappointed if you are not accepted for the spring semester of your freshman year. The CP commonly rejects or pends people who are applying during their first semesters of college. You would be more likely to be accepted if you apply for fall or spring of your sophomore year.

That doesn't always happen. I applied during my first semester, and was accepted
