College Program full

Hi I just had my phone interview a couple days ago and was told that the wdw cp is full but they still had spots available in disneyland. Has anyone else heard this, or had this happen before? They told me they would keep me on a list in case anyone didnt accept their offer, but i'm just seeing if I should probably plan on spring 09

I'm a campus rep and yes, that is true. We've been notified to stop recruiting on the E-presentation and instead start promoting the Disneyland program. They are offering alumni the chance to go to DL and work just for the summer If only I didn't have DBF and a job here that I can't just up and leave.

so, just out of general curiosity.. how does this relate to career start? if, let's say, we haven't as yet had a phone interview but have an application in? when CP is full & closed is CS usually the same?

I had the same problem, I called day before yesterday to schedule my interview and they told me it was full but would I be interested in the Disneyland program. They told me it started at the end of May, but my school's not even done by then. So, they put me on the same list. Please post back if you hear anything from them and I'll do the same.

They have a DL CP summer program!?!? Ahhhh, why didn't I hear about this? I would have considered doing that one instead!

We just had our presentation yesterday (last one of the semester!) and we were recruiting for Fall only (WDW) or Summer Only (DLR). I don't think it's on the website but it was in the campus rep email that there is a summer program in Disneyland.

I'm doing the DLR CP in Photopass... I remember in the alumni newsletter that they said they'd open May-Jan to everyone eventually, but only a few days ago did they offer summer *strictly* to alumni. It may open to everyone though if they need people.

They are letting newcomers interview now! We interviewed 12 people or the Disneyland College program and none of them were alumni. But my recruiter only did the interview, they still had to go online and complete a profile or something like that. I'm positive they were interviewing newcomers for the summer only DLCP.

I don't really know much about CS but it’s probably 1 of 2 scenarios for how recruiting is done.

First scenario, they set aside a specific number of positions for CS, CP and ICP and those numbers have nothing to do with each other. So they might say Ok, we want 4000 Cps, 2000 ICPs and 1000 CS. And when they reach the number for their specific program they stop recruiting for that program but it doesn't affect the other programs at all. So if it's this situation then the CP being full doesn't affect Career Start at all.
2nd Scenario, they have a set number of students total. And once they reach that number that's it.

I think it's probably somewhere in between the two though. Also, my recruiter said several times during the presentation that although Fall Advantage was full, there were still opportunities available for fall. In fact I did his pre-interviews and I would ask "are you applying for the Disneyland or Disney World college program?" Depending on their answer I would follow with "you do realize we are currently recruiting for the summer only which starts in May" or "fall only season with starts in August". Since CS is fall only I don't think it affects you guys as much.

I am also on the same waiting list for WDW CP. Honestly knowing how many people want to do this, I am shooting more for 2009. If something opens up, that's great, but I'm not planning on it.

I think it's crazy how popular the CP has gotten since my first program in 2005. I applied towards the end of the session, and was able to get my third choice.

I was just thinking the same thing Joanna! I did my program in 2005 and applied in April and ended up with my second choice of Merchandise.

Can you show me where it says that? I looked all over the DL website, and can't find anything on the summer-only program. I believe you. I just want to see it (because I would have loved to apply for it).
