put Obama over the top according to Chuck Todd, Political director of the Today Show.

And new voters.

Young Voters

Latin voters.

Women voters.

Not just Black voters.

And amazingly, people who NEVER voted before, no matter what their age.

:confused3

I thought "Obamabots" were all uneducated Kool-Aid drinking idiots?

I thought winning over Joe the Plumber and Sixpack was the way to win? "REAL Americans", "Pro America"... what the...

I personally want to thank those who made us angry enough to get out and vote and not accept the "monikers" and "isms" handed to us. We did what we wanted, and no, we don't need to be understood by anyone but ourselves.

And no, it didn't "slip slide away"...:cool2:

"Out of Many we are ONE." :thumbsup2

So basically old school Bushies got left out in the cold? ;) Oh and Utah, that's where I live. :rotfl2:

I was a poll watcher at one of our precints yesterday and was amazed by the number of new voters that showed up to register and vote that day. It was a patriotic day. People cared about our country. A nice sight to see so many young people out to make their voices heard.

That's what I was thinking. Why can't they just graciously accept victory?

After all the vitriol and nastiness and name calling I witnessed in the past few weeks on this site, this IS GRACIOUS.

Believe me, you have no idea... :furious:

Oh, I do, believe me. We got plenty of it from your side. Congrats on winning for your team. I hope it works for all of us.

You should really settle down some. It's not good for the blood pressure. :)

you might want to take that advice over to the "gripe" thread where it is truly needed...a whole lot of hope and celebrating never hurt any one!!!!

:goodvibes but, again, bless your heart and thank you for caring:goodvibes

I saw a breakdown of the voters on one of the news channels. Obama even won among those who earn over 200K which surprises the heck out of me.

By the way, I'm not trying to rub anything in! It's just interesting that the support for both candidates seemed to be so spread out.

Well, whattayanno, a kindred soul. ;)

So the Bush/McCain supporters are calling for unity.

Where was unity when Bush lost the popular vote and won by a supreme court decision 2 of which had ties to his campaign and should have taken themselves off the bench for that one? Where was unity when he won a razor thin reelection? Where was Unity when all the smears and lies were spread all over this board about Obama and those that were for him? You tell me where unity was then? We all know too well what unity is to a Republican with far too few exceptions. When they win, no matter by how little, unity is sit down and shut up or you're whatever smear they want to think up to try and dehumanize you. Now, unity means do whatever they want even though they just lost in a land slide. We know all too well how this is going to end. The same way it did when Clinton got elected. They're going to take their ball, go home, obstruct, obstruct, obstruct, continue with the divisiveness and the nastiness, and continue to blame the rest of us for their lack of unity

Awesome post!

I just want to add that I am so happy today! Change is coming!!

And yes, I am a white, suburban, educated (two BA's, one MA) woman.

Obama kicked butt. I thought we were in the minority...I thought wrong. More people believe in Obama's message and it feels so good! I'm so not caring what others are calling us or have called us in the past. Change has come!
