College Crisis!

Many colleges offer scholarships. Contact the financial aid office of the school you are going to. I know mine has a general form upperclassmen can fill out. Also if it is a crisis, contact the financial aid office. Most are willing to work with you and I know some offer emergency type loans and that sort of thing.

Most of the scholarships on the sites you listed are not going to be very fast to be honest.

And I found Fastweb to a joke. I found nothing of value on there...mostly generic stuff and nothing that really applied to me.

Did you fill out a FAFSA?

Go to the university you are going to be attending home page. Search for financial information. They should list a ton of scholarsips on the financial aid website. I work for a university and I help our webmaster update the webpage when we get scholarship info. There are tons of scholarships out there we get lists of 100s all the time it seems of course we can't put all that info on our website. The financial aid office can at least tell you what scholarship websites are legit.

Are you still in High School? My DS got scholarships through his just by filling out some forms. Also, your town may be giving away scholarships you can check with the Town Hall, your church or there may be some local ones for your specific major you want to study!
Making an appointment with the Financial Aid Officer at the college you will be attending is a great idea...I would do that ASAP
Good Luck

"Community College" My children both started there. It allowed them to get some of their core college classes at half the cost of a university.

I say contact your school's financial aid office! Sometimes (at least in my experience) you have to be VERY assertive, even in asking the financial aid office for direction!

I somehow managed to get my tuition and books paid plus a pretty hefty sum of $$ back this semester - all from perseverence and scholarships! :)
Good luck!

when i was in high school, my guidance counsler put out a paper every month with a list of all scholarships--it was a great help!

DD is a senior and we've just gone through the whole application process. We were told that the colleges would not announce scholorships for the fall 2006 term until mid-March. They will only consider those that have completed the FAFSA.
