can someone explain the education aspect to me? I knew that you get a choice of classes...but I didn't realized they had so many options. I looked over the education description today on the website and there was a ton of options. Do you get to chose from all of those? or are you limited in some way? I also noticed that there were some that were major specific. I will be graduating in May with an English B.A and a BA in Comm. I would of majored in Media Studies..but my college didn't offer it. I am aiming my Comm. degree towards media and will get my masters in the media field (more specifcally, show production). There's an entertainment course there that I really want to take..but it's in the major specific list. If I explain my situation, is there a possiblity that they will consider letting me take that course even thought I'm not a "media major"? How many classes do you get to take? Is it two if you're there six months and four if you're there eight months? is that right?

It's two in a season. (Spring, summer, winter, fall). Spring and Fall interns can take two classes total, Advantage interns can take 4. Yes, some are major specific, but if you explain your situation (and there is room in the class) it shouldn't be much of a problem.

I am a campus rep, and I recommend Marketing You to all of my students because it will help you when it comes to networking, resume writing, and cover letters. If you like comm, there is a new corporate communications class that could be a good choice. The inspiration and creativity also look like fun. I would not recommend the practicum. The exploration series (leadership, hospitality, tec. is also a good idea).

I would not recommend the practicum.

Why not the practicum? I was thinking of doing the practicum and Experiential Learning. Please fill me in, I haven't really made a final decision yet - I just know that I will not take Marketing You or Organizational Leadership.

Thanks!

I had roommates who did both, and IMHO opinion, they really weren't worth the time and money. They weren't necessarily taught any specific skills, it seemed kind of like a pointless scavenger hunt to me. (They had to checkout videos from the Learning Centers, go to specific events, etc.) I just feel that with all the amazing course offerings, your time and money would be better spent on other courses with more specific instruction and objectives.
