So dd17 it seems forgot what her password is for collegeboard. She has her username, but she is having a hard time trying to get the password.

She can't remember her security question, and after 3 tries they lock her out for 24 hours.

So of course, being the teen she is...she put of signing up for the May SAT. She tried but as I said, she cannot get into her account.

Problem...she just left for a week long trip...she will not be back until Thursday and deadline is Friday.

I told her I would try this week (I am off work) to see if I can get her password.

Does anyone know how I can get her password without knowing her security answer to the question?

Silly, she used the *the name of your first pet* question. We have many, many pets so she can't remember if it was the first pet we owned when dh and I got married. The ones we had we when we had her, or the first one she remembers getting as a child. Or any of the above LOL!!

As I said, she gets 3 tried before they lock her out and we have had way more then 3 pets over her 17 years.

There must be a link on there for "Forgot Your Password" so that she can reset it via her e-mail account?

If not, I would call them at their customer service line.

There is, but they want the security question and that is what she doesn't remember

Since it sounds like she is just starting thins may I strongly recommend you get a composition book (what mine used, cause of the hard cover and size) and keep it solely for college stuff.

You will have many many passwords and codes over the next year and it will be impossible to remember if you don't have them in one spot. I also helps if you need to check on anything if you have the info all in one spot. She will never remember them all, never.

Every school will have a FAFSA code, An Email code, the other financial aid code, an ACT code, A SAT code, she will be given passwords for each school and their own codes and numbers, etc.

AS you get them and or she picks them if you write everything down on a page for that school you can just go to the book whenever you need things and you WILL need things!

Enjoy! Your fun is just starting.

Can't you create your own personal account to register her? It's been awhile so I don't remember but I would give that a try.

Just as a side note, you know how you choose the schools where the reports are to go? We just figure they are doing it. Come to find out that the College Board did NOT submit DS's scores from his third test to his first choice college! We only found out by accident, and he had increased his reading score by 30 points or so, making a big difference in the merit scholarship he received. So follow up with the schools to make sure they have all the scores!

I don't think I can.. She has already taken her PSAT's, ACT and the SAT. So I assume it all needs to be on the same account.
I can only start every day plugging in the pets names until she comes home I guess.

yes..for what it is worth I did ask her to do this already....I guess I need to *make* her do it now...since suggesting it to her didn't work!!

Good lesson learned-make sure you use the same pet for all "security questions" :lmao:

Which computer did she sign up on? Any chance THAT computer saved her password? I found that Google Chrome has a place where you can look up all of your saved passwords and it has some security question answers as well. Try downloading that and click "save passwords" and see if you can find it that way. It might not get you the security question but it will get you the password if she saved it :thumbsup2. That and Google Chrome is a REALLY fast browser.

OK never mind!! I swear she just did this to me to make me get more gray hairs!!

I just went to the college board site. Typed in her username and her password popped right up (in code so I still don't know it) but 1 click of the mouse and I am in. I can sign her up for the SAT's now.

UGH....maybe this means she is not ready to go to college!! LOL!!!

I have no idea what she was trying to do the last few days where she could not get on...I only know she kept getting locked out!!

Maybe she didn't realize all those stars that popped up were her password and tried typing in something else?

OMG, LOL
My dd just took her last (second) SAT in March and she is done.
Now studying for AP Test and Subject Tests.

I created my dd's user name and password and told her what it was last year. I know they are getting ready for college but I wanted control of that site too.

Good luck to your dd with the May SAT. Have you started looking at colleges yet? I'll be happy (I hope LOL) this time next year when it is all over. I'll have 4 years until I have to stress again with my ds ;)
