Collecting the $200 gift card?

Is the only place we can pick up the gift card at down town disney?
We do have an evening we were planning to go there, but I've read nothing but bad reports lately about all the construction work going on and bad bus service .
If it's the only way we can get our gift card we will have to go though.

AFAIK the only place to pick that Gift Card up is in the Jewelry section at World of Disney (DTD)

Ah well we have a T-rex reservation anyway so we will just brave it. And we're going on a Monday evening so hopefully it won't be as busy as a weekend evening...hopefully!!

I was wondering where you collect the gift card so thanks for the info - does anyone know what you need to take with you, ID, reservation information, etc, in order to collect?

We took the voucher and my UK drivers license to the Customer Services desk in the back of the Jewellery section of World of Disney and collected it no problem.

The voucher is very important - the family in front of us hadn't brought theirs and were eventually told very politely that there was nothing the CM could do to help them without it.

We got ours in the post - it came with our other paper work when we booked with Disney UK direct.
It was a grey voucher like the accommodation and dining plan ones.

Aghh! I'll have to ring them. We didn't get any of that . I've just had email conformations etc.

To be fair, we've never needed any of it except the gift card one.
And they don't tend to post it out until a couple of weeks before hand.

In 2012 we received the actual gift card in the post before we left with our hotel vouchers etc. Has that changed now and a "voucher" needs to be exchanged in DTD?

That s a bit of a bummer if the case. We hadn't planned on DTD for a few days but would like to start spending on the card asap

Yep - we got the actual plastic gift card posted to us back in 2012 and then a voucher that you exchange at World of Disney for our April 2014 trip.
I'm guessing that's how it is now.

Also confirmation letter that no longer Illuminations/Wishes preferred viewing as part of the package .

That's good to know. We're 40 days out now (squee!), and I'm so excited about our Mickey Mail finally arriving!

we got the actual card when we booked a package a few years back with VH's. But since then we have had the voucher in the book when we've booked DIY. By the time we have collected it we have also nearly spent it all! The card is a nice souvenir when you've used it but you can reload it again if you feel inclined to do so.
