Collecting Fastpasses

I was wondering if it is possible for us to start in DL and then while my friend and her 2 daughters play in Toontown, if I can run to CA and collect fastpasses for all 4 of us.

I am assuming that each ticket needs to be scanned to enter the park before we can collect fastpasses.

Can someone please confirm.

Entrance media only needs to be activated at one park in order to collect FPs at both parks. So yes, you can go to DCA and get FPs with their hoppers while they stay at TT.

In January, I tried to use DH pass at DCA to get him a FP, and although he came into DL, he didn't come into DCA. I could not get a pass for him at Soaring. I was told that he had to use it to enter both parks. Weird huh?:confused3 I wonder what the real deal is?

No, you do have to activate it at the park before you can get FPs in there. You have to physically get the body holding their ticket and go through the gate. So you might go to DL in the morning, ride a few rides, then haul everybody over to CA for a couple minutes just to get their tickets activated for CA. Then your runner can be picking up FPs for both CA and DL for the group. In other words, you can't hand all your tickets to your runner, send just one person over there, and have him get your FP. They won't scan and activate each entrance ticket without a warm body attached to it.

If this is true, then it is a change from how they have operated since 2005. I myself have gotten FPs at DCA when we have only entered DL, and vice versa, on many occasions. The last time I did it was in June 2007.

Anyone else tried it more recently?

it's funny because the 1 park activation was how i understood it which got me suggesting this was possible at WDW but it turns out it's not possible there now (dunno if it ever was) - it has to be done at each park entrance.

My brother was able to get into DCA with out his ticket because we won dream fast passes. Now grant it we never tried to get another fast pass since we had the dream ones, His wife had his ticket with her while we stood on main street looking for him adn he had already exited Disneyland and went into DCA waiting for us near the big Sun. They allow you to enter DCA with out tickets if you win fast pass so to me it seems you should be able to get fast passes with your ticket even if it never went through the turnstyle.

that honestly makes no sense though. because (1) there's nothing stopping you from giving your dream FP to someone else who doesn't have a ticket and (2) you could just have a one day, one park ticket and not a hopper.

i think it has to be a fluke that someone was let into the park with no admission media.

As of November 2007, you only had to have entered 1 park to be able to gather FPs in both parks.

Its not a fluke. My daughter who was also there (We was there for the half marathon weekend) decided to test it out and got in too without her ticket. I guess once you win a dream fast pass you get automtic entrance to both parks? This was labor day weekend 2007 and it was the day after the Half marathon so it was a Tuesday.
They did check the hand stamp though

I think it makes sense. You walk into DL on a one park pass, they dream you with the fastpasses not knowing if you are a "one parker".Why would they deny you the use of DCA fastpasses on that dreampass the additional admission is obviosly part of it.That would be wrong to deny you the use of the DCA rides.

In Disneyland you do not have to use the fast pass during the time on the pass? You can use it anytime? One time in WDW the CM told me I was unable to use the fass pass because my time had expired. My first DL trip coming up (2months to go) and this would be good info. Thank you

We have had CM's actually encourage us to save the passes for later if the ride had a short standby line. That way we could ride twice.

You cannot use the FP before the window, but you can during the window and anytime thereafter on that day. We have done it many, many times without a second look from the CM. It is DLR policy.

Seeing that you are a WDW vet, disneymayz......I recommend you click on HydroGuy's link in his signature. Read (print) the first two threads.....then read all the others.

Essential reading for the WDW vet & lots of tips that has saved my family many hours of touring.

Regarding saving FPs for later at DLR.....yes, & it makes for darn effective touring.

I think I was wrong about this. I remember now after what Hydroguy said, you're supposed to be able to just activate it in one park to work at both.

Thats funny, at WDW last August we collected fast passes all day and used them in the evening and not one CM blinked twice. One CM did say, Wow, you sure did wait a long time to use this fastpass, but then he let us right in.

I must of had a new CM when I was told about FP times. Thank you for stearing me the right way and explaing it. I will deff. look at Hydro's thread.

Has anyone else encountered this, or was this just a fluke? It sounds like this would be a change from last year.
