DAY TWO: SUNDAY JUNE 16 Thanks For Sending Your Ponchos With Us Grandma!
6:30am Rinnnggg! Rinnnggg! Thanks for the call Mickey! Kids its time to wake up. In my best singing voice from the Disney Channel when I grew up Wake Up, Its a wonderful morning! Lets get this day underway! So Good Morning, and Good Morning Mickey! Its gonna be a great, a really really great, Its gonna be a great DAAAYYYYY!!!
7:15am All 8 of us are out the door and hike to the bus stop. A short wait and we catch a bus to Magic Kingdom. Off the bus, load up the stroller and head through security. No big deal, they just look through all bags and zippers until they can see the bottom of your bag and you on your way (please dont complain about this people, its for our own good!).
Head over to the leftest most line for our early PS at Cindys Castle thanks to Uncle Howie we have a table for 4 at 8:15 and a table for 4 at 8:30. At 8:00am they start letting early PS people in. You do need your number or they will not let you in. All 8 of our passes work just fine (that we bought way before hand when the price increase rumor was running wild (6 day hoppers with 3 plusses)). We grab maps and show schedules, Tami and Melissa disappear??? I take the kids into City Hall and the nice CMs there give all the kids stickers and I tell them that the twins are celebrating their 4th Twin Birthday! They give the twins each a birthday button and two extra stickers each. Head back out and it starts to rain...no problem, Grandma Linda gave us her ponchos from her and my brothers family Spring Break Trip. Ponchos on and head to the castle. Hmmm Melissa and Tami must be meeting us at the Castle. It is pouring now, but we have ponchos so no big deal, hey its Florida, it rains everyday for about an hour I was told, so we are just getting it out of the way early today.
Melissa and Tami finally catch up both with little bags in their hands. Honey, look at these few cute pins I just found. In my stern voice those are nice, but I told you we had to hurry to the castle to try to get our times and tables together for breakfast!
Finally to the Castle, they had no problems putting us together and we were seated right away. The tables were decorated nicely for the twins birthday with Mickey Confetti and ribbons. The hostess, the waiter, and all the Princesses made a big deal over the twins birthday. We got pictures, autographs, hugs, etc... The food was pretty good and all the kids ate fruit, pancakes, bacon and sausage. At the end they brought each of the twins a cupcake birthday cake with candles and a certificate wishing them a happy birthday.
Since we were seated so quickly, we made it back down to the Castle rope drop just as they released the herd, PERFECT for riding Fantasy Land rides!
We rode Dumbo, then got FP for Pooh, rode Peter pan, Rode Small World, Used our FP for Pooh, Rode Tea Cups, Saw the Villains characters, Rode Goofys Barn Stormer. After Barnstormer, the twins decided they were NOT ready for Roller Coasters and would do other things and come back when they are bigger to do the Mountains. We then grabbed FP for Space Mountain for later (we also used the twins tickets to get FP so the older kids could each take turns going twice using the extra FPs). We then split up for a while. I took the twins and Michelle to see the Cinderella Castle Show and get a drink, it was hot now! The castle show was GREAT, dont miss it with small children! The others decided to try Alien Encounter. They ended up using the Poultry exit before the show started, maybe next time Mommy, Jacob said.
Using our NEXTEL phones we stayed in contact even when apart. The phones worked great everywhere we used them. We then met back up and rode TTA while we were still waiting for our SM FP to activate. We waited until our SM FP were active for 5 minutes and then grabbed FP for Buzz. Melissa and the twins went to walk around to see if the next castle show was going to start while the rest of us rode SM using our FP. It was about 1pm now and the castle show got cancelled. Melissa and Jacob went on SM using the twins FP while Tami and here girls did some browsing. The twins fell asleep and took about an hour nap in their stroller while I sat with them. We all got back together woke up the girls and rode Buzz. We then rode TimeKeeper (I will skip this from now on as it is a little boring and you have to stand up the whole time).
The rain had stopped and it was getting HOT. We sent Tami and Melissa to get FP for Splash MNTN. While the kids and I staked out spots for the parade right in front of the Castle. FYI, if they say the parade is going to start at 3:00, it wont start until like 3:15. We found this with every parade at every park. It makes it tuff to keep the kids under control for that long when you keep saying just a few more minutes. But anyway the parade was great. I liked how they stopped the parade and pulled kids into the street to help them. What was really neat was that every Princess or lead Globe character singled out the twins with their Birthday buttons on and mouthed Happy Birthday to them, or blew them a kiss, or gave them a wink or special wave!
It was so hot now that we broke down and bought a mister fan for $17! Holy Smokes People, be sure to buy yours at Wal-Mart before you leave home, especially if you are planning a summer trip. Each day we filled it with hotel ice and water before heading to the parks.
We grabbed Ice Cream while we waited for the Splash MNTN FP to activate. Again we waited for our FP to active for 5 minutes and grabbed FP for Thunder Mountain. Melissa took the twins to Country Bears and the Square Dance show out front of the Country Bears while we rode Splash Mountain. We met up at the little playground under the bridge between Splash and Thunder.
It was then time for our 5:15pm PS at Liberty Tree Tavern, and we were all ready to eat and get out of the heat for a while. This was an excellent family style character buffet and when they realized it was the twins Birthday they came right over and decorated the table again. The characters were very fun and playful and the food was very good. The girls again got birthday cupcakes too.
We then rode Thunder Mntn with our FP and the twin enjoyed playing by the gysers while we took turns riding. Then it was off the Alladins Carpets (watch out for the camel), We then took a long stroll through the park looking at shops. Missy and Tami found some more neat pins. The kids all bought the rainbow flashlight swords. We finally worked our way back over to Astro Orbiter and we all rode, however in mid flight we got hit with a downpour and all got soaked. I should have listened to my Mommy and had my poncho on, but it was down in the stroller. It felt kind of good as I was pretty warm. The kids liked riding in the rain though.
We decided to call it a night at about 9pm and headed back to the All Star Music resort. By the time we got back to the hotel it had stopped raining so I again took the kids swimming while Melissa and Tami hit the gift shop looking for pins. We were all back in the room and the kids were asleep by 11pm. Melissa showed me some more of her really neat pins. She must be close to 20 pins by now in less than two days. I nicely tell her to slow down, we are here for a week. She says well Tami has a bunch too. Am I talking to my wife or my 5 year old??? Hmmm, how much are these pins costing me?
