Some guy on the weather channel just said he feels sorry for the people at Disney World because it so cold. I would rather be their in FW then fixing to go back to work. I dont feel sorry for them I just wish I was one of them.

Yes, it's possible that the Atlantic coast may see some "ocean effect" snow flurries tonight, if there's enough moisture in the air. It happens every so often. I has been cold today. When I watched the news at noon, some of the more northern counties were STILL in the 30's - at NOON!

It's supposed to be colder tonight. I don't envy the people watching Illuminations tonight. I think I'd be watching Wishes instead (more buildings to block the wind).

I hope the tent campers have some electric blankets!

It would be so cool to get on the boat at FW and go to MK while snowing. Then go ride the Run away mine train. But for those who dont like the cold and are there I do feel for them.

I moved from East Tennessee to Florida in 1989 and worked at WDW. Spent the first winter in short sleeves, the second in a jacket, a coat by the third...by the time I left WDW in '96 I couldn't find enough clothes to keep me warm if it got in the 40's. :)

My first Christmas there, it snowed!! Not enough to make a snowball, but there was snow. I volunteered to take all the outside shifts that day because I was still warm and "they" were freezing...

Had a friend there that was from Arizona - if it got below 40 he would layer 6 or 8 coats (including raincoats). Looked like he gained 200 pounds. :rotfl2:

It's all what you get used to....

it's cold here. I'm glad I didn't deplete my life savings to be at disney tonight.... we packed and headed home.

cold or not, i would have rather been in FW today than at work, the kids were horrible:confused:

Yep, suppose to freeze in Orlando tonight. First time since 03. News said it was in the 40's on Miami Beach. People wearing jackets in Key West.

BOO HOO!

Yup...the south is chilly tonight...its only 630pm and already the gay chihuahua's water bowl is icing over...boy, I bet he wishes Id let him in tonight. He just keepa a-scratchin at the window.....silly dog, doesn't he know that he'll never be able to scratch all the way through!!!

Here on the sunny beaches of Florida its currently 31 with a wind chill of -100. The fireplace is glowing with a fire and its 70 inside. Got the block heater on the ole diesel truck plugged in. Son of a gun was really banging this morning and it was only 33. Got the electric heater in the camper set on low to keep things toasty.
Yep, those chihuahuas are a picky bunch. The wife's two won't go near the back door for fear someone might push them outside.

Yes, it's chilly tonight here at Loop 200. Still think I'd rather be here than just about anywhere! I did see some empty sites coming back from dinner, though.

I'd give anything to be in Disney right now. In the last 3 days I have snowblowed more than 2 1/2 feet of snow! Give me Disney!!!!!

I just hope all the cold runs out now so it is not cold when we are there in 1 month. It is cold here tonight in Ft. Polk, LA. I broke out my parka. Brrrrr!!! I looked at the temps in Orlando and am worried. Luckily it looks like by the weekend the temps will be back in the 70's. We will be bringing long johns and parkas though, just in case.

I dont care how cold it is there. I would rather be there than here. And I would love to ride BTRR in the cold! Splash Mountain? not so much! :lmao:

It's 36 right now in the 1600 loop, but the wind is blowing a good breeze fairly steady so it feels extra cold. DW and I picked up the rest of our brood yesterday afternoon so there will be 5 adults for breakfast this A.M. at the trailer then it's off the EPCOT with the whole family  I was going to cook bacon out on the electric griddle, but have now moved that inside :rotfl2: ... too cold for these old bones to be standing out there "bringing home the bacon" :lmao:

I'm into the power management mode. We now have two 1500W electric heaters and a 1000w coffee pot going and will need to run a 1500W electric griddle and 1500 convection oven this A.M. I have run two additional power lines into the trailer. My trailer 30 Amp is feed via the 50 Amp dogbone, I have a 30A to 15A dogbone in the 30A service outlet that will run the coffee pot and the convection oven since the convection oven won't be on that long and I can feel the inlet cord to make sure it doesn't get too hot. I also have a cord from a 20 A outlet that will power the electric griddle. One 1500W space heater will be run by the Trailer factory wiring and the second one will get shut off. Running two 1500W heaters last night kept us toasty and the furnace never came on. In fact the one in the back bedroom where our son is sleeping might have been turned down or off since he like his bedroom on the cold side. :scared1: I did run the A/C fan only on low to keep the air circulating.

Right now the extra power cords are laid along the walls on the floor, but see that my first mod will be to install something more permanent and out of sight for these extra power sources.

Getting ready for work this morning here is Maine and it is in single digits with wind chills in minus figures and I hear that Daytona is getting snow flurries! I can't wait for the day that we don't have to shovel all of this filthy white stuff, right now our driveway is hidden by the high snowbanks and I can only hope that the "January thaw" in the upcoming week helps to bring that down a bit.
I would rather be cool at FW with the furnace running intermittently than having to bundle up to face the temperatures that are here now.

DITTO!!!!!!! It is currently SIX BELOW here in NH.....:headache:

Oh to be "chilly" in the Fort!

We have a balmy 11 degrees right now. Plus we've had lake effect snow for the last couple of days!!!! I'm already counting down the days till spring, Oh wait ~~last year we had our worst snow storm in April:rotfl: :rotfl: At lease we are all prepared here in Ohio for all of this ugly white stuff, I do feel alittle bad for the folks in the South who panic when it goes below 50 degrees. Wishing we were back at the Fort right now even if we had to wear coats!!!!
