For everyone going in the next couple of weeks, it looks like it is freezing there! The high for one of the days next week was 48!!! I am serious, check out weather.com. Have fun and remember to bundle up! I was thinking of planning a trip for next December, but maybe not!

I was just telling DH how cold it's getting there. He said it's almost not worth it. To us Florida is for escaping the cold.

My sister and I are planning a trip the last week of January. When I told her how cold it's going to be this week and next, she said maybe we shoudl postpone. Last year we went on February 23rd for a week and one of the days was the coldest day they'd had in 18 months. We want it to be warm when we go! However, if we wait, the crowds will be larger. It's a tough decision!

We leave for WDW tomorrow and I have been anxiously watching weather.com and am not too impressed with what I have seen. However, I looked at what the weather is supposed to be here at home and I'll take the Florida version anyday. Plus, we'll be at Disney!!! On the day that it is supposed to be 48 degrees there it is supposed to be 18 degrees here. We know how to dress for the cold and maybe the parks won't be as crowded. Maybe people will just stay at the hotels, who knows. The end of the week looks to be in the low 70's and we will love that(we are there for 2 weeks).

It's all in what you make it. My DH says he will take a 48 degree day in Florida over a 48 degree day in Michigan anyday!! For everyone who is going for Christmas, have a great time no matter what the weather and Happy Holidays!!

My sincere condolences to those heading down this weekend. Grit your teeth Mon. and Tues. and all will be well thereafter. My selfish hope is that this will get Florida's cold snap out of the way ahead of our upcoming trip.

Well if any of you would like to switch with me I'd gladly go to Florida with 48 degree weather than be in PA with 10 degree weather and snowing on Sunday and Monday! The grass is always greener . . . LOL!

We just got back, and it was pretty chilly. We even ended our night at MVMCP early because I just could not stop shivering. Pack the hats & gloves, and don't forget LAYERS!!

Well, I was anticipating cool weather and it looks like I was right. Doesn't bother me though, I'll be in WDW over the Holidays! Hey, it could be worse, it could be that cold with rain! Maybe they won't need FAKE snow on Main Street after all!

Please dress appropriately. I was at DTD yesterday. You would be amazed at the number of people (including little children) walking around in shorts. Some had on sweatshirts, but that really wasn't enough. We actually had a windchill yesterday morning of 27 degrees.

My DH and I are going this weekend and we're digging out our sweaters and gloves and scarves! This trip is all about feeling the holiday spirit for us and enjoying the decorations and holiday offerings of WDW. I think the cold weather will just make it feel that much more "holiday"!

I do feel bad for all of you coming from the north. I think only Sunday and Monday are supposed to be really cold. Yesterday was in the high 50s and when I was in the sun it really wasn't that bad! I'm from NY originally, so "winter" in Florida doesn't even compare!

Any advice on dressing warm and things such as those hand warmers and Polartec gear?

Do any of the animals on the safari go inside when it is cold?

Just trying to decide if EE is worth getting up early on Monday if the animals are not outside.

I will gladly switch with those who dont want to go cause it's too cold :)
48 would be a real treat for us....temps here are not going to get out of the 20's for a LONG time ~ sunday a high of 9. and we dont even have any snow!!!

take us with you!!!!!!!! my DD's want to go back already and we have only been home 3 weeks :grouphug:

Accuweather also says rain Christmas Day. Yuck. Wonder if I should've got our return tickets for that day instead of the 26th. Probably will keep most of the locals away, though...............not that I don't like locals, you understand, just thinking of crowds.

ECU Pirates - I would think the animals on the safari would be even more active in this weather! I'm used to going in the summer when it's hot and humid and the animals are lethargic and hiding in the shade. I think they will probably be out and about more than usual in the colder weather! I don't think it's going to be cold enough to keep any animals out of the safari.

A fickle bunch you are... :)

From Weather Underground:
High Today: 70
Saturday: 68
Sunday: 63
Monday: 48
Tuesday: 63
Wednesday: 72
Thursday: 73

In my opinion, there are six nice days and one unseasonably cool day. For those that frequently travel during the summer (when it is routinely 93 degrees with a strong thunderstorm each afternoon), think about touring in the high-60s to low-70s. For me, I'll take it! :rockband:

The 27th of December and through next week are forcasted to be warm....at least to me (mid 70's is a sauna). Please stay this way:) :cloud9:

The coldest temperature during the day for next week is Monday the 27th and it is forecasted to be 70. The rest of the week is mid to high 70's. I don't see a problem here. I checked two different weather channels.

The weather here in Orlando is warm now. We are expecting a chance of showers but it is still wonderful.
