Cold Weather, Hot Tub?

We’re planning on being at AKl the second week of Jan., and it looks like we’re bringing the cold weather with us (sorry ☃️). While I know the pools will obviously close when it’s cold out, will the hot tubs?

DH enjoys the hot tub even if he has to walk through a foot of snow to do so, but there’s no sense packing swimwear if the tubs will be off as well.

The hot tub at Kidani is really close to the changing rooms if that's any consolation. It's a nice tub tucked away near the top of the slide and shouldn't be closed due to cold weather.

Before I moved to Florida, we would relish the times in our hot tub when it was snowing.

What about POFQ? That hot tub is separate from the pool area from what I can see.
Yes. It is. I’m guessing if there’s no pool staff on site they lock it but don’t have first hand knowledge. They don’t have a life guard stationed there but they do check it regularly. Doubt they’d allow out to be open if no one is there to check it

Pretty sure the pools/hot tubs were open in cooler weather when they closed the water parks. Unless your like me, and pack a swimsuit for everyday (and then just wear one the whole trip), I’d eee in the side of throwing in a suit—they don’t take up that much space in your luggage.

Agreed. We have been here many times where they closed the water park due to temps but pools were still open. I’m guessing it’s the 40s for the pools but that’s a guess. We’ve been here when it froze. Twice. Both times when flower and garden had been set. Killed plants.

Our son and I have been swimming multiple times when the temps were in the low 40s.
I’m getting so confused 😂 Maybe it’s not so much a temp rule as a feels like temp rule, something that takes into account humidity and windchill…

We were just at Hilton Head, and they said that Disney changed its rules on January 1 for low temperatures. There is no 50 degree limit anymore. They will leave the pools and hot tubs open no matter how low the temperature goes. Good news for us northerners who would use the hot tub in the snow!

Guess next week will test that
