OK. I checked the weather at 9:00am today and it said it was 33 degrees at Disney World. Anybody been there during the cold spell? How are the crowds?

We are supposed to be going either the 3rd of 4th week of January 2011 with another family. When i mention the temps they just keep saying 'good thing we aren't there" or "this is a once in a lifetime weather event".

I don't know....

We were there the week after Christmas, and some mornings, the temps were in the 30s when we headed out to the parks. It's not completely unheard of for Orlando to get these extreme cold spells, but it is a bit uncommon. Crowds were about as bad as I was expecting, so I don't think the cold kept many people in their hotel rooms.

DH's uncle, who lives in Tampa, told us before we headed down that it could be in the 30s or it could be in the 70s, and there was no way to predict which way it would go. I'd definitely plan for both extremes, and watch the weather reports closely before you leave so you don't get caught completely off-guard.
