We are leaving Saturday and I plan on bringing jeans, t-shirts , jean jacket and sweatshirts. I think I will leave the shorts at home this trip :)

Not to complain, but it was 43 below zero at my house this morning. That wasn't the wind chill...That was the actually temp.

Those temps should be illegal! Just too darn cold. I think of my two years in Wisconsin as boot camp.

T&B

We're due to have windchills of -45 F tonight!!!

the -45 windchill is fun...had it last week. It's finally over 32degrees today...first time since the day after christmas. In all honesty...Montana hardly ever gets that cold. but then again we dont have snow days or cold days at school. never have...never will.

Feels like winter here this morning. The temperature at 9am was 42 degrees with a stiff wind from the north. I took the dog out and I could see my breath. That doesn't happend often here. It should warm up later to the mid-60s.

If you are heading this way soon, remember to bring clothes for all types of weather. Last week it was 80 degrees. Winter is very unpredictable here.

Sorry but 42 degrees in the morning is a heat wave. We are just north or Boston and I had to shovel the driveway this morning so 42 degrees but going up to the high 60s by noontime I will take anyday.

My sister just moved to Great Falls and has been telling me about the cold temps. Not fun! She returned home late at night one night and somehow had dropped her keys so she couldn't get into her house. It took a long time before her roommate heard her knocking and she almost called the police so she wouldn't freeze to death. Bet she carries an extra house key now!

T&B

leaving this thursday and I am packed! We have:

bathing suits (wishful thinking??)
shorts
capris
long pants
SS shirts
LS shirts
sweatshirts
light jackets w/hoods
polar fleece jackets
gloves
180 ear muffs
Please tell me we can leave our winter coats in the car at the airport!!

You shoud be fine with light jackets and sweatshirts or polar fleece jackets and sweatshirt. No need for something like a down jacket or parka.

I would pack your winter coats if you want to do night parades, etc. We went Dec 2002 & it got so cold some nights that we would have froze had we not had our winter coats. (We are from NE & it was same temp at home as it was in WDW) We leave this weekend & am PRAYING for nice weather. It is cold here now so it will seem warm in comparison!!! :flower1:

I'm leaving Fri...

Not Packing:
Shorts
Swimsuits
Parkas

Packed:
Short sleeved t-shirts
Sweatshirts
Pants
Fleece Jackets
hats & gloves (just in case)

Thanks for posting that! I'm headed down there on Wed and I have no idea what I should pack for! Although 42 is warmer than the -16 we had this morning (not including wind chill!). I have to start packing tonight though so that should be fun :)

My main reason for never coming to WDW in the winter is that chance of cold air! I have temps in the low 30s here now but prefer it to having to be at WDW in the 60s even. When I go to Florida I like to feel like Florida! LOL! Good luck to the poster that wants to swim in the volcano pool. We stay at the Poly ever October and there were many days that were too cold for swimming. Because the pool is right off the open expense of the lake that cold air pours right in. We froze trying to swim in the 70s much less any lower.

I don't remember an October day below 80 in the past 2 years... we swim in our pool every day through November without needing to resort to the pool heater!

Where I am at....the low tonight is going to be 1. Yep.... 1 A Degree. When you walk on the snow, it has that distinctive "crunch" to it, as I know many of you know that sound. :earseek:

We have been going the beginning of October for the last 5 years and two of the 5 had temps dip to 70. The last time being October 2003. The windchill made us freeze! There was barely anyone in the pool. Too cold for me. This past October wasn't too bad. There was only one day where it got to the mid 70s. We were going to go to the waterpark that day but opted to stay close to the resort pool as even that was kind of cold.

Us too, that's why I can't wait to get to Florida. It might be cold down there but nothing like up here. :flower1:

While I know our Florida cold weather is nothing compared to other parts of the country, we HATE it, HATE it, HATE it.

-12 here this morning on my new weather channel read out thingy DH got me for Christmas. I hate winter!!! It's suppose to be -10 tonight :(

I agree, that for most of the country, 42 in mid january isn't really considered "cold", but, that being said, for those of us that live in FL, it can be a bit chilly.

I was wearing shorts today (my personal "policy" is to wear shorts anytime it's above 40), but I also had my work-issued heavy jacket on for most of the day, and gloves. I justify it to myself by thinking that if I were back at home or at school, I could easily go with a lighter jacket, or even none at all for these temperatures, I also wasn't standing outside for 6 hours a day. After about 20 minutes standing without moving around a lot, it starts to feel colder than it actually is.

Just think you could be up here now it's only 3 with a wind chill of -11. Florida here I come, can't wait. :Pinkbounc
