I'd love to go (even have a free airline ticket (I can use) but DH has to work that weekend and I don't want to go by myself. Oh well, should still be fun to watch at home.
What is sad is that Jon Stewart has one of the only reliable news shows in the country.
What else is sad is that a comedian/entertainer has to be the one to put out the call for toning down the rhetoric that constitutes political discourse these days.
We were just discussing this. My 17 yr old DS really wants to go. I was just looking for a decent hotel on tripadvisor. Any recommendations?
We've been to DC and the metro is really easy to understand. I don't care where we stay as long as there's a metro station nearby.
I think this will be fun. John Stewart makes more sense than most news stations. And he makes fun of the intolerant jerks around the world. He is really an intelligent guy and his team is usually spot on with their commentary.
I think I read that Colbert starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday so I thought we would drive in and sleep over on Friday night.
While I would love to take credit for that, I think I read it somewhere and just . It sooo applies to folks on the far reaches of either side of the political fence.
If I wanted to be really obnoxious (and could go. I did think seriously about it for a while.) I would have a sign for the Colbert rally that said "The only thing we have is Fear itself!" and a sign for the Stewart rally with a cartoon of a bald eagle trying to flap just a right wing and then trying to flap just a left wing and the caption "sometimes it takes BOTH wings" or something similar.
