When we were at Disneyland on Sunday we went to Coke Corner at the end of Main Street and bought a Cherry Coke. We were watching them make it and they used regular coke and then added cherry flavoring!!!! It was so Yummy!!! We are now going to make it a regular stop when we go!!!

Sounds good. I saw a show on cable in Australia about a Diner in LA where they still make all the coke from syrup as per the original recipe. But cannot remember its name. It is apparantly set up as it was in the 50's and has a soda type name. If any locals can help, Would love to visit it.

This is cool to know! I really only like "real" cherry coke. I had no idea anyone made it anymore. I will have to check that out this weekend! :Pinkbounc

When I worked at Chilis Grill & Bar we would make cherry coke using grenadine. Might try a chilis too if you're near one.

Do you have a Johnny Rockets (and a lot of other 50's style diners) or Pasta Pomodoro near you? They make them that way too. I'm not big on cherry coke, but I love a "real" vanilla coke!

Ruby's Diner is another one that uses cherry syrup (or real vanilla or chocolate if you want one of those flavors) in their cokes. Plus their burgers (which you can get hamburger, turkey, or veggie) and fries are super yummy.

Our Dairy Queen restaurants do the same. I like the vanilla! Medium coke- two squirts vanilla.

Making Cherry Coke that way is also called a Roy Rogers. And of course Grenadine with Sprite is called a Shirley Temple. I used to work at a steak house with a Texas theme and I had to remember which was which! Hmm, we were at the DL Coke restaurant not too long ago and I thought I saw them pour my Cherry Coke straight from the soda fountain machine.
