I know about the food courts, but I really like my coffee while I'm getting dressed in the morning. Has anyone ever tried requesting a coffeemaker in their room at any of the All Star Resorts? What was the result?

I don't think they have coffee makers. If it's really important to you, you can always pick up a cheap one at the local Wal*Mart or K-Mart.

This may be a little wierd for some but we make our own little coffee packets. (We're from Louisiana and a mite picky when it comes to our coffee). Just sew together two filters with the amount of coffee you'll need sandwiched in between. Worked like a charm. I know this doesn't solve the coffee maker problem but maybe someone can use it!

ps I've packed a little 4 cup Mr. Coffee before. Just fill the carafe (sp?) with something (I used a ziploc bag full of socks) and pad it with your clothing.

No coffeemakers in rooms. None "available" either....I asked (Mar. 2000) . Yes, they have the food courts and the small "portable" one by the smaller pool in the a.m., but I'm not one to go out before I shower. Fortunately my DH got it for me, even though he's not a caffeine addict like I am. I bought a 4-cup maker at a garage sale. Next time I will be prepared. I don't care if they're "value" resorts. Even the budget hotels I've stayed in elsewhere have coffemakers in the rooms.

Thanks to all for the quick responses. Guess I'll make other arrangements. I bought some 4-cup filters in error -- maybe I'll get a coffeemaker to go with them!LOL

I use one of the water heaters every trip. I heat the water in a separate large mug that I bring.
They come in handy to make cup of noodles, tea, hot chocolate, oatmeal etc. I can't go any where with out it!

I spent $8.00 at a local drug store.

Tink2dw......awsome website. i've been looking for the collapsable cups. ThanKs!

We stayed at CBR last April and we had a coffee maker in the room. I was thrilled because, I like you, NEED my FIRST THING IN THE MORNING COFFEE! Feet barely hit the floor and I'm sipping the java. BUT we NEVER used the coffee maker AT ALL in April. Instead we really enjoyed getting our morning coffee from the food court with the re-fill cups. dh and dd would stay in the room getting ready (showers, dressing etc.,.) while me and 15 month old ds went for coffee. It got the baby out of the room so the rest of the family got peace and quiet, ds and I got some GREAT one on one time and WE STILL GOT THE COFFEE! I loved this change in routine. Great way to start the day. Even watched the sun rise a couple times during the morning walk! I was AMAZED at the amount of folks up that early!

Try this it may help. Get one of those insulated carfe or large coffee cups and fill it the night before. We got one of those large coffee mugs at Wal-Mart in Kissimmee for about $2 and it holds about 3 to 4 cups and keeps it hot over night.
