My boyfriend (29) and I (25) are going down this weekend for a few days and wanted suggestions on where to get some good coffee. I can't remember where I have gotten it "in the world" in the past. We drink mostly Starbucks at home if that helps. I've heard the Kona coffee is good at the Poly. Also are there any places that make lattes (with skim milk)?

TIA! :)

We were at the Contemporary in April 05 and there was a very nice coffee bar in the lobby. I, too, am a big Starbucks fan and I found their coffee bar to be along those same lines in terms of varieties (lattes, etc) and they even have a few desserts. :coffee:

There's a place in Epcot near the middle of the park before hitting the WS area but whose name escapes me. They have various coffees, lattes, espresso, etc. and a fairly nice bakery/snack item selection. No doubt, someone will post the name soon. Also, Artist Point at WL serves French press coffee that is rich and delicious. . .of course, you have to eat there to get it! But, i do highly recommend AP. . . paw:

You know, I intended to start a coffee thread when I got back from my last trip, so everyone could share the places to get non-Nescafe coffee. Here's where we had luck:

-Kona, and the Kona Coffee Bar
-Boma-- you can order their special pressed pot coffee, strong and yummy
- In AK, there is a kiosk near the entrance to Discovery Island, the Kusafiri coffee shop, offering shade grown Coffee, but only in the Espresso and Cappuccinos, if you order a regular coffee you'll get Nescafe.

There's good coffee in at least two places at Epcot. First, there is a kiosk in the passageway that used to lead into the Millennium Pavillion (between Canada and England). I bet that's the place sleepydog25 was thinking of. Seconed, there is a kiosk in France, right up front, as you're heading towards the Southern end of the World Showcase.

Starbucks has been served at the Swan and Dolphin in the past.. I am assuming they still do so, you can get that in the lobby in the morning at the bar. I also thought the pressed coffee at the Kona Cafe was excellent.

One of the things I notice most when in Florida is there coffee is not as good as I am use to. Another thing I have found is no one uses light cream in their coffee.....it is half and half always or milk. In the morning I do like light cream in my coffee, the rest of the time I drink it black.....

If you love coffee, you are always on the search for good coffee.

I know exactly the place you're talking about and they're not that great. I'm pretty sure that many of the coffee kiosks at WDW are owned by the same vendor, as they're all the same. The quality of the drink is highly dependent on the grumpy, tired, underpaid, idiot behind the counter. Also these are *cash only*.

Having said that, I think there are a few places about that aren't run by the guys that run the crappy ones throughout the parks.

The French press Kona Coffee at the Kona Cafe rocks. Also the French press of Kenyan coffee at Boma is awesome too. My husband thought the Kenyan was too strong but I loved it! :)

Thanks everyone! I will be sure to try some of these!

Does anyone know if you can get the pressed pot of coffee you get at Boma at Jiko? We'll be eating there the night we get there! :cool1:

My first trip to Disney was in January and my husband and I thought the coffee was really bad...no matter where we tried it. We stayed at WL and AKL. I think out of our eight nights there we had one good coffee and that was at Jiko.

We are going back in August and I will make sure I ask for French press at Boma and Jiko :thumbsup2

Someone had told me about the french press coffee at Boma-- i think i am going to go have breakfast there just for that! :coffee:

BTW-- how is their breakfast, i am used to having a great sitdown at the Concourse Steakhouse- would you compare it to that?

Thanks!

Boma breakfast is great, just make sure if you want eggs or an omelet you get it them made to order at the omelet station.

There are so many great choices, there is really no way to try them all. But a very good buffet.

Boma is absolutely awesome. I have been there for breakfast only (so far!). There is a bunch of items you've likely never had and an equal amount of "safe" items that are yummy just in case.

I said it in my other post, and I will mention it again. The French press Kenyan coffee is a little stout. I would much rather my coffee be a little strong than a little weak. My husband thought it was a little too much and just drank his frunch. I didn't care- it was more coffee for me!!!!!! :)
