Just wondering if the coffee makers (specifically in AKV & Poly Villas) are still basket filter types?
Getting my thoughts together for packing :)

Thank you,

All DVC Villas use the same style of coffee maker which take the basket (flat bottom) filters. It should also be full sized (10-12 cup). There have been some studios that have had a smaller (4 cup) Mr Coffee brewer, but housekeeping will bring the full size if called.

So they don't provide you with daily coffee and filters? I'm thinking about my grocery list as well and wasn't sure if I needed to order my own coffee and filters.

There will be one (maybe two) pre-measured coffee filter packs in the room. They will replenish them on Trash & Towel and Full Cleaning days (basically every 4 days). If you ask housekeeping for more coffee, there is supposed to be a $3 charge.

The other option, is to get the refillable mug. We often have the refillable mug and I don't make coffee in the room at all, just fill it up whenever I pass by a station (and there may have been a time or two when my route was designed to take me by a coffee station).

The refillable mug is a good option. I do still prefer to take my own coffee and filters though. I like a pot in the morning and afternoon. I don't like going out for the morning coffee so I set the pot up night before and just press the button when I'm ready in the am.

Rather than bringing filters AND ground coffee I just bring my own prefilled Maxwell House coffee filter packs that eliminate any measuring. I once got stopped at airport security for my 1 Lb bag of coffee in my carry-on bag. They thought I had drugs hidden in it or something!! :rotfl:

They should put those Keurig makers in the rooms the you just buy the K cups.
Keurig makers would cost a lot more I'm sure-m than the regular pots they have in the DVC villas now-plus the regular Disney hotels don't use then unless they have recently switched. They use a similar type of machine (cuisinart I think) but it brews using a flat tea bag looking pod-if they switched to that model it wouldn't be compatible with K cups either.
