Coffee Makers

I was reading on another message board about this and it got me thinking...but I wonder how others would respond....

People do tree swapping and fridge swapping.

If somebody were to offer a coffee maker to you, would you be willing to use it or would you think it is gross to share something like that?

I don't drink coffee, but a coffee maker is easily cleaned, so I don't think I would worry about it too much.

Would you use a coffee maker that came with the hotel room? No guarantee on how clean that is, either.

Personally, I don't see that it would be any worse than using one that comes in the hotel room. I will normally use the in-room coffee maker, after I check it out! I usually give the pot and basket thingy a quick wash with dishwashing liquid which I travel with.

I always run just hot water through one cycle, before I use it!!! Clean it out a bit.

I am seriously considering this for my next trip. We are disgusted by the coffee makers in the rooms and have decided to bring our own. No room in the luggage to send it home and for the cost of the coffee maker, it is not worth it to ship it home. I understand that Disney shipping rates are crazy anyhow.

So I think I will get a coffee maker and if somebody wants it when I checkout, they can have one that has been used by one clean person instead of by possibly hundreds of people where some might have been not so clean.

What a neat idea! I am bringing my own too, but we are driving, so I will have room for it.

I don't know why it would work any differently than the fridge swap. Good luck!
