I know Disney hotels do not have coffee makers in the rooms, right? Can you bring your own?

Boy does that open up a kettle of fish. hehe...there's a few threads regarding people's opinions on bringing appliances into resorts. I say go for it.

I could have sworn we had a coffee maker at CBR during one of our trips. Am I mistaken?

I've heard that CBR has makers in room, you don't need to ask.(i could be mistaken,,this is what my sil told me.) I know that at WL and AKL,you just request one,and they bring it to your room, its a 4 cup coffeemaker, and they bring you a packet of coffee/cream,etc. and some styrofoam cups. At WL,they've left several packets,,when we were at AKL in Dec,,they told me they could give me 1,,and did i want regular/decaf. I thought the guy was trying to be funny,,but he wasn't:earseek: I asked if he could possibly spare a 2nd packet, and he said he'd try. He did bring me 2,,i guess your're supposed to buy them. They're not cheap,so you may wanna bring your own. I know at the Value Resorts,,they don't have makers,,you can't request one for your room. So maybe its just at Moderates and Deluxes? We're staying at POP next week, and i thought about bringing our coffeemaker, and my hub looked at me like i had a real problem. But if your're used to drinking say,a pot a day,,i'd say sure! bring the coffeemaker!!!

CBR does have coffee makers in the rooms. You don't have to request them they are always there.

I believe ALL (or at least MOST) resorts at Disney have coffee makers and, unless you are staying on DVC points, you get daily refills on coffee packets/filters.

Nope - not in my experience.

I have stayed at CR, Poly, BC and AKL over the past 2 years and none had the coffee makers in the room. I had to call and request and got one from houskeeping from all but the BC. The CR and AKL provided coffee the Polynesian did not. I had to literally beg for the coffee maker every day at the BC and never did get one, boy was I grouchy LOL.

I think you can request one from housekeeping free of charge at the deluxe and moderate resorts. They are offered on a first come first serve basis. IIRC they are not available at the value resorts.

One thing I love about the Dolphin is the coffee maker with coffee and mini bar, no begging necessary.

I bought a little Melitta "Take Two" coffee maker to use at Pop Century. It comes with two travel mugs, which was perfect for my sister and me. I didn't want to have to make a run to the food court first thing, especially since my sister coming was a last minute thing and I'd planned on being in the room with only my 4yo. I like coffee first thing in the morning, afterall! Also, the coffee they serve is the Nescafe made from concentrate, and I'm used to fresh ground.

I did leave my microwave, fridge, toaster oven, and kitchen sink at home, however!!! :teeth: :teeth:

CSR and Fort Wilderness cabins also have coffemakers already in the room. You get coffee every day at CSR but only for the first day at FW.

I've stayed at GF 6 times and NEVER have I had a coffeemaker in my room. This October, I requested one at AKL when we were staying concierge (needed it for EARLY morning cup for my dad) and it was like pulling teeth to get it for some reason.
They definitely aren't standard at Disney in my experience.

We took along a 4 cup coffee maker to POR 2 years ago and plan to do the same for our upcoming stay @ POFQ. In fact, I bought the maker just for our last trip & it really worked out great. We definately need our coffee in the morning. .:jester:

There was a coffee maker at CBR, and coffee was left - but like the ponchos they charged you for it if you used it.

I was at AKL and WL and they did not have coffee makers. I didn't ask either.

Has anyone else asked for them and been denied, besides the report on the BC.?

The Fat Mouse wants your money!!

Even if you are paying for a deluxe resort, the fat mouse wants your $1.50 in the morning to your coffee. Coffee makers are in rooms that have conciers (spelling is incorrect, because I am not French) . If you want to bring your coffee maker, then bring it. The fat mouse will not give you a free cup of java.

Dad of 3....yeah, I'd probably have to agree with you there, more money for Mickey if they don't supply a coffee maker in the room

Well, I need my coffee first thing in the morning, and I don't feel like walking 1/2 mile, and then stand in line for it, so I'll probably just bring a small one.

You know, we have ressies at the Dolphin which HAVE coffee makers in the rooms (as does every other hotel in America!), and I was thinking of switching to a Disney hotel... but maybe I'll stick with the Dolphin.
