Coffee maker and coffee

This might sound dumb and stupid question, but if you order a coffee maker, do they give you those packets to make coffee or do we have to bring our own coffee? We will be at AKL and requested a coffee maker for our room. Need that caffeine before I even get moving.

They will bring you one pakcet of decaf and one pakcet of reg. coffee. Then you are on your own. We always bring some starbucks in a small container.

Thanks - just wanted to know and be prepared. Now I know, plus I also like that extra strong Spanish coffee espresso in the morning.

We will be staying at AKL in one week (Feb 1st). Do you know how much they charge for a coffee maker in the room?

Does anyone have any recent experience with bringing coffee in their luggage. I understand that food items can cause some security issues (maybe it throws the dogs?) Is this going to cause a problem if I pack my Starbucks??

We stayed at the AKL in December and we had a coffee maker...although we didn't request one. There was no charge for it. We are 'coffee snobs' and always bring our own.

No charge for a coffee maker but you do have to request one at AKL. We carried coffee in our checked luggage along with a few other foods (peanut butter)and did not have a problem. Our luggage was opened and searched as we did get the notification letter in our luggage telling us so.

Thanks Muffy. Costco sells a box of coffee packets that should work great for packing. We leave in 6 day!

We're also staying at AKL and I'm wondering whether to bring the little cone or basket type? (I called AKL to ask...housekeeping said cone but sounded unsure.)
