Okay I have to just put this out there... I am a Coffee Junkie and I do my part everyday to keep Starbucks in buisiness. What am I up against when I go to Disney. I would assume that there isn't a Starbucks on every corner like there is here in Colorado and I am okay with that...but can I come close to having a quality espresso from time to time.
What have your experiences been and any suggestions for a great latte.

Thanks A Latte! :hyper:

You can get Starbucks at the WDW Dolphin. It is served at their foodcourt (Tubbies) and at their breakfest buffet (Fresh). The CR also has a very nice coffee bar in their lobby but it is NOT Starbucks. The Kona Cafe (Poly) serves Kona coffee. You can also get decent coffee at Boma (AKL). Hope this helps!

And that pretty much sums up the possibilities for decent coffee at WDW.

Nearly everywhere else serves Nescafe - most places use some type of "coffee syrup" to make coffee. A few places grind beans and brew fresh, but a self described "Starbucks Coffee Junkie" will not find it anywhere near the same. I sure don't, LOL.

My advice - Bring your own coffee & filters and brew a pot in your room before you leave for the day.

Best wishes - from someone who loves WDW and hates their coffee! (except for the African, & Kona varieties already mentioned).

I like the Starbucks coffee at the Dolphin. I don't know where you're staying, but you can buy a refillable mug for about $10 and I don't think you have to be a guest there. They have 2-3 different flavors, but I don't think they make the lattes for you.

I did get a frozen frapuccino drink at a stand in Epcot's Italy section. They had several coffee/espresso drinks. It didn't taste like the nasty nescafe stuff, but it had a lot of chocolate in it;)

Morocco serves Moroccon coffee. (Imagine that! ;) ) DH had some once. I asked how it was, he shrugged his shoulders.
But I sure like their mint tea! But I know to a coffee drinker that is a poor substitute.

There are rumors on and off that Nescafe in the parks will be replaced. But sorry to say that has not happened, if it will. Nestle's is deeply imbedded in WDW.

If you like your coffee with a little extra there is Viking coffee and others like it in the Norway bakery. :drinking1

I am quite the Starbucks addict. I am worried about the icky Nescafe at WDW, but not worried enough to make the trek to another resort to score some decent coffee.

If your resort offers a coffee maker you might want to purchase some of the pre-filled House Blend coffee filters from Starbucks. They are great for travel - no mess. Not as good as a latte, but better than something made with coffee syrup! They have the little pre-filled espresso pods, too, but I don't think they will work in a regular coffee maker.

Good luck!

We drug the french press pot to the Cont. this summer and a hot pot to heat the water. It worked well.

WOW...I am shocked!!!
Isn't it time that WDW came into the 21 century of coffee--its only the hottest trend anywhere (LOL).
While I didn't expect there to be coffee shops everywhere, I certainly wasn't expecting Nescafe and .....Coffee Syrup ?/?/? wha is that?

Okay, I have the french press but was hoping to have to not bring it but I guess I will...My thing was the morning we are going to getting up quick and racing out the door no doubt...I will get a mug as suggested and fill it to go!!

I would imagine place like Morocco has great turkish coffee and france as well has good coffee--guess you just need to ask.
Thanks for the tip about the Dophin, but I won't be needing to do that--I haven't gotten that bad yet!
We are at the Wilderness Lodge...do they have Nescafe as well?

Darlene

WL has vile coffee. I bring my own Green Mountain Coffee beans from Vermont when I go.

DH lives off coffee (Green Mountain) and hates WDW coffee but enjoys the frozen Mocha Java's. IF you like Frappachinos (sp??), you'll like mocha javas. If you're planning on going to US/IOA, there is a Starbucks in each park as well as one in City Walk!!

Where are you staying?

I bring little 4 cup filters and my own coffee and brew my own in the morning. The food court coffee is awful, but I did force myself to drink it at Pop Century since there are not coffee pots in the rooms. When I stayed at Pop in Feb for a week I bought my own little coffee maker (Melitta Take 2) and made good coffee.

There is brewed coffee that tasted decent at MGM. It's at a pastry shop on the corner of the main street when you're walking in and the street that you walk down to get to Tower of Terror.

Good luck!

I love the coffee they serve at the Polynesian. :earboy2:

The regular coffee at the parks is ick. We are DVC members so for the morning we just brew our own that we bring with us.

I also am a coffee person, we pack our own filters and coffee. We brew a pot before we head out to the parks. I tried the coffee at Trails End and it was pretty good.

I am from around the Seattle area and have Starbucks running in my veins  I am in coffee-hell when I travel to WDW - BUT - I did discover quite the coffee treat: frozen coffee in AK - YUM!!! This is the best coffee treat EVER! You gotta give it a try if you like coffee. There may be other locations, but the only place I remember finding it (and I went back several times!) was at a food cart on the right-hand side as you walk over the bridge into AK and you can see the Tree of Life for the 1st time. Good luck! :flower1:

No - definitely not a frappuccino.... it's like a cross between a frap & soft-serve ice cream. It's NOT ice cream, but it's thicker and creamier than a frap - make sense??? It really is deeeeelicious! A must for any coffee fan! Mmmmmmm..... I'll be there in February and as soon as I cross that bridge I'm getting my frozen coffee - can't wait! :drinking1

Thanks for the tip - I'll be looking for the "frozen coffee" at AK.

I think I read in a trip report that they have good coffee at Artist Point now. (not sure where you are staying, if this is feasible or not)

yea, I was thinking more on the lines of a triple or quad shot/ non-fat latte ex..hot! Think I will pass on the frozen drink and save my desert points for Creme Brulee' I am sure I can go a week without and we will be leaving the park some too.
Thanks for the tip!
