Im from WA, espresso capital of the world....im an addict by nature and would even go so far as to call myself a "coffee snob".

I get the same thing, everyday at the same place...its my vice...my joy...my "pleasure". ;)

Where are all my other "gimme that latte and nobody gets hurt" people and WHERE are you finding the best coffee at in DL or DTDD? :cool1:

Thanks a bunch!

Most of the coffee at DLR is dreadful (Nescafe), but Compass Books at the end of DtD (near the DL Hotel) has "real" coffee. Also, I hear the Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street has decent coffee, but I've never had it so I wouldn't know first hand.

You can also try La Brea Bakery at the other end of DtD (near the World of Disney Store).

super! We are staying at DLH so sounds like Compass Books it the place to be! I recall seeing that place the last time we were there but it was always in passing and the line was out the door and we had the kidlets in tow, otherwise I would have stopped.

We always ended up getting espresso at PPH in the little lobby snack shop thingy and it wasnt too bad.

Thanks for the tip!:goodvibes

It will be interesting to see what happens coffee-wise as Carnation leaves the parks and I would imagine the Nescafe will go with them.

I drink iced lattes, and it's hard to mess those up (though Starbucks does about every 3rd time I force myself to visit them). Disneyland hasn't messed one up yet. :)

But when drinking hot coffee with b'fast, I found Storyteller's coffee to be really good. The server said that everyone says that, and it's a special blend that Nescafe did for them.

storytellers does it, CO, CC, BB, all 3 hotel restaurants use it...and yes your right its good...and I as well am wondering what will happen once nescaca goes bye bye...any word on when thats supposed to happen?

We've not had good coffee experiences in the park or in the hotels. The one thing that would make Disneyland perfect: Starbucks.

But, we've got that Northwest coffee snob thing going on, so we're doomed just about anywhere we travel.

I like getting my blended mochas from that same little PPH snack place thingy and they are always good, too! The Market House is the place that gives the free refills on coffee all day, but I never hear anyone say that is necessarily GOOD coffee! I like what they sell in Blue Ribbon Bakery...but then again, I think I TELL myself the coffee is good because it gives me a chance to go in and buy a messy cinnamon roll and other fattening pastries!!;) My friend always finds the coffee to be particularly strong in most of the places we have had it for breakfast, including Goofy's, Storytellers and Carnation. I don't mind strong coffee just as long as I am eating food with it - otherwise, the blood sugar will go nuts!

Eek. Starbucks? No no no. They burn their coffee. Tully's is OK, but the CA coffee company Peets is actually much better (though I feel like a jerk ordering anything but pure coffee there, LOL).

Don't get me wrong, I like the company Starbucks, they treat my friends who work there very well. I just don't much like their coffee, LOL. :goodvibes

I agree....only use Starbucks as a last resort. Its lost the uniqueness it once had. I favor smaller, local coffee companies.

I normally go there for iced tea and just yesterday thought I would give them another shot with coffee.....ended up taking 3 drinks and then tossing it.

Bumber im an iced drinker myself. :goodvibes

So, another topic...whats everyones drink of choice? Mine is an iced triple grande white choc. mocha...no whip. :thumbsup2 Loves it!!

I went twice last Saturday to get one and the second time my daughter asked why I drink so much coffee. I told her it was because it relaxed me, made me happy and always puts me in a good mood. And if I ever start getting cranky she needs to tell me to "Go get a coffee".

Later that evening it was late and I was struggling with finishing up costumes for everyone (I made them all) and my patience was running thin and my voice was escalating. Out of no where, dd says...."Mom, do you need a coffee?"

I couldnt help but smile. :)

I am right now having a cup of New Orleans Chickory Coffee in a 4 seasons cup (bone china rimmed with gold). I am coffee snob too. But I dont judge others for their medicine choice though and will drink gas station coffee if I need to.:lmao: So at DL I think the best coffee IN THE PARK (not the best coffee in tje universe mind you) imho is Blue Ribbon Bakery. They actually have an espresso machine so you know if you ask for a latte it will be fresh. The brewed coffee is good too. It is way to busy in there for the coffee to ever be old.
As far as sit down coffee, I have only had coffee at Cafe Orleans, and it is good. It is an arabica blend. It taste like the New Orleans Chickory coffee I drink.
Now for bargain and getting the job done, the Market house , if its fresh isnt too bad, if you get a cookie with it is is just delish! And you can get free refills if you save your receipt.
Now, what I like to do is bring a little cinnimon or pumpkin spice in a little salt shaker :lmao: and sprinkle a little bit in my Market House coffee. It just makes it taste a bit better to me.
Now, to get the full effect of my first cup of Joe, we will go right to the HM and ride it twice while we drink up and eat our cookies. Its kind of like sitting at a table , only in the dark and spinning around a bit.:rotfl2:
I now return the floor to the rest of the speakers......:lmao:

The coffee that you bring from home and brew yourself in the hotel ;)

I agree 100%. That was one thing that was horrid during our vacation earlier this year. The coffee is horrid!!

I already told DH that we are bringing our own coffee. And I will bring oxiclean to clean out the in-room coffee pot. And bring our own disposable travel mugs. I don't care how much room they will take up in the suitcase.

Last trip the best coffee was : 1) our hotel continental breakfast coffee (Camelot) 2) Cafe Orleans 3) IHOP

I thought it was sad that the best coffee was served at our hotel only at breakfast. (I hate McDonalds coffee, so that is out of the question)

I can't wait to read the suggestions for other coffee houses and places to get a good cup of coffee (I am a Washingtonian too!!).

I love good coffee. However, I will drink just about anything in a pinch unless it's weak. There is no fixing weak coffee. :sad2:

Last year I went so far as to bring a hot pot, cups, and freshly-ground-the-day-we-left Peet's coffee from home. I won't do that again, as it simply wasn't worth the hassle. A quick trip to Compass Bookstore was easier (we stayed at DLH) and tasted just as good as what I managed to brew up in the hotel room.

My secret for making almost any cup of coffee decent is to add plenty of real cream :rolleyes1 As mentioned above, even this doesn't work on anemic java.

Oh yeah, I guess there's not much you can do with that sour stuff that's been sitting too long in the pot, but at least you can ask for fresh when that happens.

I'm a Starbucks snob here too. I've never found it to taste burnt but maybe you don't like strong coffee (gal from Tacoma)? I like Starbucks because they make my drinks right every time due to their excellent training. However, I don't drink the sweetsie drinks often (iced mochas, etc)... If I want a cold sweet drink I go home and stir Quik into a glass of milk LOL. I drink plain old hot lattes and an occasional Caramel Macchiato. During the holidays I do enjoy a Gingerbread latte and I find that if I order them elsewhere they are always too sweet. At Starbucks I always get what I expect.

When I want a cold blended drink, Dutch Brothers is the way to go hands down.

Ahhhhhhh... I spend way too much on coffee!

To answer the OP... good question!

eta - Bumbershoot... I have heard from others that Starbucks tastes burnt so I hope I don't sound like I'm singling you out! :)

I like it, particularly the hazelnut. But then I hate Starbucks, so that puts me in the minority of this thread anyway.

"Your eyes stay open when you sneeze."

Thanks for the laugh!! That was awesome.

I particularly like these ones:

-You don't sweat, you percolate.

- You walk twenty miles on your treadmill before you realize it's
not plugged in.

- You forget to unwrap candy bars before eating them.

Hello All! I am new here and I love this site it is a great place for information. Where can I find the (Market house) I cannot find it on the map?

Does DLH have coffee makers in the rooms? we roast our own and I'd prefer to have my own brewed in the room. (I guess I could bring my own but it would be interesting on the plane! :) )

It is on Main Street. If you are facing the castle I believe it is on the right. You will see the sign in any event.
