We love good coffee and consider Kona Cafe over at the Poly to be a must visit establishment every visit. We are staying at the Contemporary in December and I was wondering if anyone knows what I can expect to find at the Contemporary Grounds Coffee Bar? Does this coffee bar have real coffee or that nasty Nescafe stuff? It looks like it has potential for being a place to get real descent coffee.

Also, does anyone know what the hours of operation are for Breakfast service at the Wave?

:surfweb: TIA

Contemporary Grounds is located in the lobby just by the doors which lead to the convention center. I have never purchased anything from there, however here is their menu so you can see what's on it. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=233

As for The Wave's breakfast hours I am not sure how long it is since that is not listed anywhere. However I would guess it would be from 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM, because those were the hours for the Concourse Steakhouse when they were open for breakfast.

Thanks for trying to help. At this point, it might actually work out better for us to just get room service darn near every day. My MIL's health problems cause her to have a particuarly hard time getting up and moving in the mornings, so I was thinking that if we just ordered room service, that it wouldn't be that difficult to have her get herself together on her own time and just bring her breakfast in her room from ours. It might work out best from a sanity point of view. lol

As to the issue of coffee, if there's no good coffee there, we will have to bring our own and/or go to Kona on a regular basis. ;)

Bumping and hoping a coffee lover or two has stayed at and frequented the coffee bar at the Contemporary lately.

I was very happy with the Contemporary Grounds when I stayed last September. It is indeed a coffe bar. The regular coffee was very good (but not AS good as Kona, that was #1). In addition, you can get latte, capuccino, expresso, etc. A nice touch was the sugar options, as the had "Sugar in the Raw" packets.

Most mornings, I got a couple muffins/bagels from the Tempo grab-n-go, and coffees from the COntemporary Grounds. I'd bring both back to the room and enjoy breakfast on my balcony :)

:worship: Thank you! I knew someone had to know for sure.

We are not big Starbucks fans, but we do love BadAss Coffee Company Coffee, which is Kona or a Kona blend.

I'm not a huge Starbucks fan either. I used to prefer Dunkin Doughnuts, but after our last trip in which we went to the Kona Cafe twice, I've been buying a Kona Blend from BJs. I'm completely hooked now to the point where I got a Dunkin Doughuts coffee and was disappointed! I think the Contempoary Grounds should fill your needs on the days you can't make it to the Poly ;)

We will be staying at that the Contemporary in December as well and I am so happy to see the inquiry regarding COFFEE:surfweb:

Thanks for the information…..Starbucks is not our favorite either…..I am happy to hear that we will start our day with a good cup of coffee and by the sounds of your reviews, :drinking1 it looks like we will need to start one of our days with a cup of coffee from Kona as well.

As always, thanks for all of the great tips and information DIS!:worship:

Oh yeah, if you like coffee, Kona Cafe is a must do! Maya Grill over at CSR had good coffee and I hear good things about the coffee at Boma, but I have not had a chance to go there yet.
