Hi

Someone we are going with has the above. Do you mention this on the booking info or just mention when in the dining room? Are Disney pretty good for this? It is a child

Also on a Halloween sailing do they have ticket event like gingerbread house making on merrytime?

So we get one night of Halloween and one pirate night if on the panama?

Thanks

It absolutely should be mentioned on the reservation (specify “gluten-free” as well as celiac just to be safe) so they can prepare for meals as well. PLEASE call and have it added. They stock GF stuff based on the numbers of reported needs - plus a little extra just in case, but if a lot more people need GF than report in advance, they possibly could run out before the end of the cruise.

Thank you I will tell her :)

Wonder if he will be able to have pizza or pretzel or is it just available in main dining rooms?

Do they do anything like gingerbread making on the Halloween cruises?

Frozen is that the meet and great?

We were lucky on the Hawaii as had that and Pixar

I’m assuming you are on the Wonder Panama Canal in just a few days?? She needs to call NOW to get the notation on there. Technically that should have been on as soon as the reservation was made, but at least if the call is made today they have some notice.

I was able to get GF pizza at the place on deck on the Magic. I would assume they can do it in the MDR, not sure though. NO GF pretzels that I was ever aware of.

Room service is NOT recommended for food allergies - and really there is only a salad that can be GF, but it is not recommended for celiac where cross-contamination is a major issue because there is ONE room service kitchen. And room service “breakfast” is all pastry stuff so a no-go if you’re GF.

Hi
Not until next year sonthank you all so much for letting me know :)

Awesome!

They do have gluten-free donuts at breakfast - and I was able to get gluten-free Mickey Waffles in the MDR at breakfast.

But I’m pretty sure no pretzels.

I don’t believe there is anything like the gingerbread house on a Halloween cruise — no craft that requires a ticket.

Yes, Frozen is a meet & greet. Generally with Anna and/or Elsa, but i’ve Read occasionally Olaf joins. You can reserve tickets in advance when you do the online check-in and booking other activities. Same with the Princess Gathering.

Enjoy your cruise!

A few tips for those who need GF food:
  • As soon as you board, go to the dining room and mention that someone has a gluten allergy. Also re-confirm during the first dining.
  • Bring your own ice cream cones (especially for a really long cruise). They won't have it for the soft serve machines.
  • They have GF pizza on Deck 10. However, it will take a while since they obviously have to make it from scratch (so you might want to pre-plan ahead of time if people want to eat together on Deck 10).
  • They will also have GF options at Palo. Moreover, they have a GF chocolate souffle.
  • Utilize the 2 bottles of wine or 6 pack of beers per person as there will be limited GF beer available. Remember, you can also re-stock at each port (provided the prices are cheaper than on board).

I would say yes, go to double check that it is listed on your reservation. But it should already be on there. You NEED to have it (or any other food allergy) noted on your reservation so that they can order supplies accordingly. You need to pick up the phone (or have your TA pick up the phone if you used a TA) and let them know that you need gluten-free (or any other food allergy) noted on your reservation. That way they can be adequately prepared for the number of gluten-free passengers.

Yes, they will order slightly more than their reports say they need, but if everyone decides to wait until they board to report, odds are that they're going to run out of some of the gluten-free supplies.

I have been on a ship (not Disney - RCCL's Brilliance of the Seas in the Med during summer 2016) where NOT everyone who needed gluten-free foods had reported it, and they started running out of the gluten-free breads (of ALL types...buns, bread served at dinner or used for French toast, bagels, pizza crusts, etc.). Fortunately we overnighted in Venice where RCCL has a distributor since they sail some ships out of Venice as an embarkation point, and they were able to re-stock. If not, it would have been bad news bears for the remainder of the cruise for those of us who needed gluten-free food as we would have been even more limited in what we could eat.

We haven’t been on the Wonder since my husband was diagnosed, but just wanted to mention that on the other ships, in addition to gf pizza, the quick serve places on deck also had gluten free chicken tenders. Like the pizza, they were cooked to order, so took a little bit of time. The fries were cooked in a dedicated fryer so were safe as well.

From what I understand each ship has the dedicated fryer.
