codes with agent

Who has had success booking room only through an agent then getting the discounted, best rate when it came out? I've always gotten up at the crack of dawn the morning codes were released just to get that great rate. I'm a little nervous counting on someone else to do this for me but would prefer not to be on hold for my normal 45 minutes or so.
 
We use Dreams Unlimited and they have always been able to get us a discounted rate. We have AP's and they have a record of that, so that when any AP rates come out, they can call and apply it to our reservation. I don't think I have ever missed out on a good rate while using DU. But, I have gone batty once or twice wondering how she was doing getting one. It's sometimes hard to just let go and let someone else get it done for you. And since they are so incredibly busy when a new discount comes out, they might not be able to get back to you as soon as you might like. You sometimes forget that you're not the only client they have!!!

I have gotten a code aplied thru my TA once but another time I was able to do it on my own (I think I just got lucky though because I don't think they're supposed to let you do that). My only worry with the TA is they have a lot of people to get codes for and I am just getting one for me. I worry that if I am at the bottom of her list, I may not get it.

This will be my first time relying on DU for codes too. I'm guessing I'll read about the codes (assuming they come out!) here first and then be waiting for an email from my agent. I'm not losing sleep over it though. Not yet. :)
 
I'm using DU for this trip, but we used Magic For Less last time, and the TA got us the code when it came out.
 
DU applied the new code to our December reservation while we were on our August Disney trip! We were not on-line and did not check codes while on vacation... how happy we were to receive that e-mail upon our return only to find that the situation had been handled just as they advertise!

By the way... our August trip had been booked through AAA -- we did the day-to-day nail-biting, waiting for codes, for that trip. On the morning codes were released we phoned and left a message for our TA. By the end of the day, she returned our call with the new bottom line. We'll never know whether or not she would have found out about the code and handled it on her own but that experience was definitely more nerve-wracking! ;)
