Does DL ever offer codes for any of the DL resorts? We will be flying out to So. Cal. the end of April and were thinking of arriving a few days earlier to stay at DL [never been]....all replies welcome...TIA!

Also, the discount codes on Orbitz and CheapTickets (typically ranging from 10-18% off) usually work on the Disney hotels. There is a maximum discount cap of $150 with those.

But I wouldn't miss Disneyland if you think the on site hotels are too pricey. There are TONS of great hotel options around DLR that are not Disney properties, some are even closer to the parks than some of the on site options.

....yes, but we have over $1400 in Disney Visa points - those hotels don't accept them.

@kimmar067 , do you mean Disney Reward Dollars? If so, you can use those to purchase the tickets too, either online at disneyland.com or at the ticket booths. You won't be able to use the reward dollars on Orbitz or CheapTickets

....thanks, but why do the discounts only go to April 11????? :badpc:
Disney has a discount cycle.
The Mouse Saver sites has the schedule of information regarding past details. I can't find it right now. It helps to know when the specials will be posted

....yup....I figured that we could 'pay' for the resort room using the accumulated points, and leftover points would go towards park tix/food.....I didn't want to sound cheap, but we are really flying to California to attend a wedding. Between the cost of the flight, clothes for the wedding, wedding gift, hotel [in Carlsbad] it's costing us a small fortune already, so we thought we could throw in a 2 or 3-day mini vacay at DL [since we've never been]...

Of course, I just wanted to make sure. How many people are going on the trip to DLR? And how long do you plan on staying? Because the tickets themselves are costly and might take half of the reward dollars themselves. A 3-day park hopper is normally $330/ticket.

I'm assuming there are two of you going and since you'll be here in April, you can take advantage of the special ticket offer. Then MaxPass is an additional $10/per person per day, so that could potentially be another $60. Parking is $20-25/day, assuming you stay at an off-site hotel, so that's another $60-75. So, already that is $720 of your $1400 reward dollars.

I don't recall how much self parking is at DLR hotels, but I think it's also in the neighborhood of $20/day so that would still be $720 of your reward dollars. That would leave you $680 left to spend on the hotel and food. If you stay there 2 nights, remember you will still get EMH (extra magic hours) for the check-in day and the check-out day. This *might* negate the need for Max Pass, but again, depending when in April you go, it could potentially be the spring break period for California (and nearby states).

I don't recall whether you can use the reward dollars as a form of payment for the initial reservation through DLR....I believe there are good neighbor hotels that you can book through the DL website so, if you can do it (use the reward dollars), you might also be able to pay the Good Neighbor hotel/motel through the DL website with the reward dollars (trying to stretch your dollars here). Or, you could stay 1-night, get extra magic hours for two days and then move to a good neighbor hotel for the second night and use the magic morning on that part of the trip.

Paradise Pier is the cheapest DLR hotel, followed by Disneyland Hotel. Grand Californian is the most expensive, eek!

Right now, their special offers are good til early April 2019.

*Edited to remove information about special ticket offer but if you qualify, then a 3-day park hopper is $260 per person*
