Codes are difficult to get

I've only gotten one in my whole life it was like a week after we just returned from a WDW vacation.

I am with you. I have tried everything to get one. Signed up my e-mail, called the Reservations Office, ordered a DVD, and any other ideas that people had but nothing. So every day I just hope and pray that we will get some kind of discount this year so that we can go with my BIL and SIL who we rarely see due to distance. My BIL was previously serving at Quantico so they are 7 hours away from us. When he was in the Marines still he was mostly overseas so we couldn't have used his military discounts to go on vacation and now that he is out and can go with us we can't get a discount to save our lives. Oh well..maybe a general public deal will be released soon.

Sorry you haven't gotten a code, but there is still time to take advantage of the 4/3 deal, which is not to far off the 40% deal. We are going this month on the 4/3 deal, and the code would have only saved us an additional $100.

I'm with zuzu310, I have tried everything but still no codes. Yes, I do have the 4/3 booked but it would be nice to receive one of those elusive codes just once!!!

I would use the 4/3 deal but we have to go during September. I am in grad school full time at Ohio State. You don't get much time off but at the end of August you get 3-4 weeks into September before school starts up again. Here's hoping that they will offer something similar for then.

Add me to the codeless crew!! I too, have done everything people have mentioned...including booking our trip at REGULAR FULL-PRICE NO DISCOUNT RATES !! I will cancel if nothing comes our way. In this economy we are crazy to be going anyway -- but to go and pay full price?? Not going to happen.

I found out today that they can give you a code when you call if they really want to. I called with a code I just realized I had under an old email address that I no longer use. The email came to me back in August but was for discounts on dates through the end of this year. For some reason, the CM could not get the code to work. She said let me check what promotions are available now and see what I can do. She came back on the phone and gave me the 40% discount. I know I did not have this code "attached" to my name because I had already asked two previous times I called this week.
I was able to book 2 premium rooms at the CBR for 10/25 to 11/1 for $117/night instead of $195/night.

We go to WDW every 1 to 1 1/2 years. we stay on site most but not all the time. We have gotten codes 4 or 5 times. This year we got one a few days after DH had emailed guest services, asking if we could use a code that our son (who is not traveling with us) received. Last year we stayed off site but we got a code a few days after I made our ADRs. While I was talking to the cm I had told her we were considering the DDP but were waiting for a "good deal."

I think I've really exhausted all methods of getting a code...here's what I've done. Any other suggestions are welcome.
- Requested travel DVD
- Played online setting up vacations
- Emailed Guest Services asking about how to get a code (never got a reply)
- Called every 2-3 days for the last 2 weeks
- Booked a vacation (had a REALLY friendly nice CM who didn't give me a code)
- Requested DVC DVD
- Have a Disney Visa
- Registered on Disney.com in my maiden name at my old address (where my dad lives)
- Registered DH on Disney.com at his parents address

My final attempt other than continuing to call is going to be calling to cancel my ressie. Maybe that will get some notice??

Anything else you can suggest??

I am registered on the Disney web sites, order from disneyshopping.com and had the planning dvd sent to me. I started this a little over a year ago. I've received codes by email periodically since then. I did notice that during the time that I have a package booked, I do not receive codes emailed to me. I ordered the DVD to be sent to my mom about a year ago and she received a 40% code by snail mail a few weeks ago. I'm not sure what else you could do.
