Codes and concierge

Hi all,

I'm just wondering: do general codes (or even AP rates) ever apply to concierge rooms? When we booked our 3/03 trip, we used a general code for AKL, but I noticed no concierge rooms at AKL were discounted. Is that generally true?

Hi there...

Codes come up in limited amounts for the concierge rooms... last year I stayed 9 nights at AKL Concierge and there were no codes available for my time period... I paid full rack rate (ouch)

I am booked again at full rate this year at BC & AKL... maybe I will have better luck.

I will be at the BC Concierge on Sunday and I booked with a discount code! In fact when I booked, the only rooms available with a code were concierge rooms!

We stayed AKL concierge March 21st-25th, 2003 and at first had a code on the room. Then AP rates came out and it was about $30 a night cheaper than the code for around $377 a night.

Codes are not guaranteed to apply to all resorts and room types. On the other hand concierge rooms are not excluded and codes often/usually do apply to them. All you can ever do is call and ask (or have a good Disney Specialist travel agent do it for you). We got a great code rate on Polynesian concierge in Dec 2001.

I'm not sure how you could have "noticed" there were no discounts for AKL concierge unless you specifically asked about it. If you were looking at a list of code discounts (e.g. on mousesavers.com), that list may not have been complete.

There are always limited numbers of rooms available for code discounts so it pays to reserve them as quickly as possible after they are announced.
