Guess I need to keep my eyeballs on this thread now.

I am currently booked with free dining 9/25-10/4 and also got the 40% off flier. This week was "supposed" to be my kids fall break. I knew that the school calendar might change, so this morning I decide to check the school calendar. They have changed the Fall break from 10/6 - 10/10. When I booked free dining during bounceback, I verified the dates, and now they have recently changed them. UGH!!! We are still gonna go, but now I need to find a discount for these dates, since I now can not use either free dining or the 40% off discount. Bummer!

Anyhow, so what kind of discounts are available these dates? I know it is Columbus Day week, so can I even expect one?

What part of GA. are you from? We are from TN and our fall break is the Oct 13-17. I hate that your break changed ours was earlier last year and later the year before. I thought ours would be the 6-10 but it's not and had to change all of our plans also. I will say I love having fall breaks and I am glad that they are spreading the southern states time apart. I bet Disney will eventually not have any codes during Oct bc fall breaks are becoming more popular.

2008 it will be Oct 13-17
I thought it would be a week earlier then it is. We also get the Friday before fall break off for admissions day. Which is a day students are out and they do admissions for the Kindergarten coming the next year.
So I am planning our trip for Oct 10-16 and then we are going to head to the beach for a couple of days.
But so far no codes so we are just going to stay at POR and hope for a code and we can upgrade to Poly. We'll see! Like you said it's Disney so nothings bad. How many are going on your trip?

I teach at GT and am sooooo needing a Disney fix. We're tentatively looking at the week before classes start (August 10-17) or late October....though GT hasn't declared when our fall break is going to be yet *grumble* I think it is usually the same weekend that Canadadian Thanksgiving is, which is apparently a crowded time for Disney...

Oh well.. time will tell.

I'm new to all this code-stuff so no idea if this will work for anyone else but I ordered the free vacation planning dvd online and came home today to an email with a personalized pin # for 30% off a non-discounted room price 10/19-11/1 (which happens to fit perfectly with my plans ) as well as some other dates throughout the year. I really hope the same will work for you... can't hurt to try, I suppose!!

I got a 20% pin code and booked my trip today for 10/18-10/25. I'm going to try and not pout over the fact that so many people got 30 or 40% off, i'm just happy i'm going. And....20% is better than nothing!!!

Opened my email today and got a 20% off code...WHOHOOO!!
BUT.......I'm a little confused though...

The first bit says stay in a VALUE resport 10/2-11/25 for $99 a night plus tax....OR get 20% off non-discounted room if I stay other dates (and the dates listed INCLUDE 10/19-11/1 which overlaps the first time frame listed).

My questions are:

1. Does the 20% apply to non-value resorts...
2. If we stay from 10/20-26 do we get 20% off $99 per night which happens to be the non-discounted rate during that time period??

I'm teaching technical communication this semester and really tempted to use this email from Disney as an example of what NOT to do. *giggle*

If you don't know what you re doing you're likely to look at the $99 and go "Whohooo! I'm getting a deal" when in fact, you aren't because rooms are already $99 during the time frame listed!

The better deal is obviously to change your travel dates to get the 20% off instead...but even that is confusing since the dates listed overlap.

And then I have to sort out the whole ticket issue. We *should* have enough days left on our tickets from the first two times I took my husband to Disney to cover the days we want to go...but my idea of a nightmare would be showing up with those tickets and finding that they didn't work or something!! Especially since money is REALLY tight and we probably wouldn't have the money on the spot to buy new tickets.

Then there is the dining thing.... is it possible to combine the 'free dining' (assuming they do it again) with the 20% off rack room rate??

Oh geeze...I'm getting a migraine just contemplating all this. *whimper*

I booked the CSR with 20% off, so yes, it does apply to non-value.
I don't know about the 20% off $99 per night rate, you should just give them a call and find out.
No, you cannot combine free dining with a room discount-it's one discount or the other. But, i don't think you have to worry about that because free dining is typically from the end of august through most of september.

I checked out historical discounts on mousesavers and it looks like 40% off room rate in October is as good as it gets. I think 40% off is great! I wish i had that offer, i only got a 20% off pin. I'm hoping a code for the 40% off is availalbe in august like in previous years.

This will be my first trip to WDW and my dh second. We plan on going Oct 15-25. Any discount would be wonderful....the search is on, lol.
