Cocoa Beach?

We spent a night at Cocoa Beach, we stayed at the HOliday Inn, the outdoor area was nice, and it was right on the beach, but the rooms were outdated. We got a kids suite and after coming from Disney where everything is clean, etc it just seemed dirty.Anyway, we enjoyed Cocoa Beach.

Hi! We're going to Disney May 2 - 8 (05) and are planning on doing only one day at MK (we have 5 under the age of 7, they are 11 mos, 23 mos, 3, 6, 7). So we think one day is all we can handle - plus our budget is small! Staying in a condo w/ pool will be quite a vacation for us anyway. DH would like to take a day trip to Cocoa Beach, has anyone been there and how was it. We're used to driving an hour everywhere we go b/c of where we live so that's no big deal. But I don't want to drag all the kids if the beach isn't very nice.

I love Cocoa Beach, it's one of my fav places. But..that might be because it's where DH proposed. Nothing like a marriage proposal to add some to your memories of a place!

Any ideas on what to do on a day trip? I suppose we'll just go to a beach and hangout there. Which is the best beach to spend an afternoon on? And maybe have a picnic?

We just got back 4/10 from a 4 night visit to WDW, then traveled to Cocoa Beach for a 3 night visit.

We stayed at The Resort on Cocoa Beach...very very nice! It's a timeshare condo that you can rent by the day. I think its the nicest place on Cocoa Beach. Great pool, lots of activities throughout the day for kids. They have a movie theatre, a game room, you can pay $25 for the week unlimited movies for your condo. Easy access to the beach. I would ask for an oceanfront condo ABOVE the 2nd floor. There's vegetation in the front that blocks the 2nd floor and you can't see the beach. You can find more info on the web about this condo. We will definitely go again.

We stayed there in June and enjoyed it a lot. We were on the top floor and had a great ocean view.
