Cocoa Beach Motel 6

I have read all the present and past threads about various accomodations in the Cocoa Beach area but no one has mentioned the Motel 6- in the passporter it got decent reviews- clean and inexpensive- and that's what we are looking for- nothing fancy- has anyone stayed there?

We were wondering the same thing also. Right now I have
reservations for Ron Jon's & Motel 6. But not sure if weather
would be warm enough for the kids to enjoy the water park at
Ron Jon's on Dec. 11, so if we don't stay there we are going to
WDW for the day before our cruise and staying at Motel 6.
So I'd appreciate hearing from anyone that has stayed there too?

I'd love to know as well. We have reservations there, but might have enough Hilton reward points to say somewhere else. Would love to know what people think that have stayed there. I book also because I read it was decent in the Passporter.

Hello there,
My family stays at Motel 6 when they come down - its about 4 miles from Port Canaveral, 1/2 block from the beaches and 2 blocks from Ron Jon's surf Shop - They have an outdoor olympic swimming pool (but who wants to swin in the winter), children stay free but I do not know the ages required, they have guest laundry service, also close to a few restaurants (well like IHOP for one) - its not a Hilton or a top of the line and it is directly on A1A - well the rooms face OMG I forgot the street - anyway its not bad for the monies - you can go to motel6.com or call 800-4-motel6, local is 321-783-3103 and their fax is 321-868-0875.

Thank so much Shirley, I am glad to get another opinion that says it's not scary or anything. We won't arrive until dinner time on Friday and then we'll be up and going in the morning so I hate to spend too much for a bed and an shower! Thanks!

Shirley - For those of us coming from the snow, sleet and freezing cold temps of Canada, a cold day in Florida is good enough for us to swim!! So in January and it is a little cool by Florida standards you will likely see 6 crazy Canadians walking around in shorts and t shirts!

Also, I look forward to doing business with you in January. I can't wait to surprise my 4 DD's with a basket from your shop!

Ok-good- if Shirley says that it is decent -then it's good enough for me!
We're coming from New York , and like our Canadian friends, January is going to be plenty warm for us in Florida!

Thanks Shirley, That makes me feel so much better. I think I've
decided then we'll skip Ron Jon's this time and go straight to WDW
from the airport and then drive back and spend the night at Motel
6. I'm guessing Motel 6 is pretty close to the Budget Car Rental too.
