We went to Cocoa Beach in early December and it was our first trip to the ocean.
We had hoped the kids could pick up shells but all that was there were "remains" of shells broken up into many pieces-it didn't matter though the kids thought it was great!
We wondered if maybe people hit the beach early to collect the shells that are sold in the shops. We ended up buying shells, sand dollars and such at a small shop on the pier!
Anyway for our first time the kids enjoyed it
as they had nothing to compare it to--we spent about 2 hours there and then had lunch on the Cocoa Beach Pier.
After that we spent a fair bit of time at Ron Jon's Surf Shop. I didn't even know what it was but DH thought it was the place to go and we all agreed it was really cool.
In all we spent approx. 5 hours there which was long enough---like I said we didn't have anything to compare it to so the kids thought the ocean was very exciting!
