It is a "you get what you pay for" resort.
If your budget allows you to stay somewhere else, then look elsewhere.
I will always be a fan of Gaylord Palms and Fort Wilderness Cabins. Now one awesome part of our last stay at Gaylord Palms (for a cheer competition but we stayed at the resort) was at one point it was raining hard outside. I love that even if rains most of the day, you can still enjoy the resort and not be stuck in the room. There are movies in the atrium and plenty of space for the kids to explore.
There are lots of great resorts, you just have to pick what works for your budget.
