Coco Key Water Resort in Orlando

Teresa,

We're considering a February stay. If this year is anything like last winter it's likely to be COLD! LOL Is the water park partially indoors? We have a CoCo Key here in CT that is fully indoors. It's hard to tell from the photos on the website.

And also, can outside tickets be purchased like they can for the CT location? That makes the water park awfully crowded on some days.

Thanks for any info!

This is how it's described on their website: "Orlando’s Largest Canopy Covered and Outdoor Water Resort".

If you go to Google Maps and search "7400 International Drive Orlando, FL", and switch to the satellite view, you can see what it looks like. It appears that part of it is outside and the other is covered and is surrounded by the motel.

On the Bing Maps website, the satellite view is older. It was taken before the waterpark was added. Apparantly the motel has been there for awhile and must have been renovated.

We weren't aware that there was a CoCo Key in Orlando. We saw it as we drove by on I-4.

There is a blog (?) about Coco Key as at the top of the Disboards. We drove by it in April, 2010 and it was still under construction but looked awesome. I think that is where we are going to stay for our next visit

FYI Resturants.com has $25.00 certificates for both their resturants for $10.00 then 80% off!!

The Hotel was completely gutted and renovated. The Water Park area for the younger kids is under a canopy. I am staying there this coming week end to check out. I will let you all know what I think...

It doesn't work quite like that. This is the deal: You can purchase the $25.00 certificates for 80% OFF the regular price, which is $10.00. So instead of paying $10 to purchase the $25 certificate, you can buy it for just $2.00 (80% OFF $10).

With the restaurant coupons, if it says minimum $35 does that mean your bill is $35 and then take $25 off, or does it mean you have to pay at least $35 (so purchase $60)?

Your bill has to be at least $35 and then they take off the $25 so you only pay $10:thumbsup2

Thanks! I just paid $3 for a $25 off at a steak house by UCF, going on a road trip so I can take my DD out for her 22nd birthday!

Oh...and we are going to at least drive by this resort and check it out for future trips, I will take pix!

stayed here a couple months ago, it is a really great place, rooms are all renovated and really pretty and roomy. the small childrens area is the only part under a roof, great fun!

thanks for sharing your resort... do you think it would be too cold to make good use of the water park over Christmas? (i realize that the weather is not predictable, but using average temps as a guideline) and, any idea if the water is heated in the cooler months?

It is a very old hotel, hopefully with a nice remodeling.I think I heard it was one of the first hotels in the area and that it was used as a training spot for the Contemporary Hotel when it first opened which makes the building almost 40 years old.
