Are there any Coco attractions, shows or merchandise available at the parks or resorts or Disney stores? Will there be for Christmas?

Not much outside of some clothes. Might see more pop up as time goes on

I saw Coco merchandise at the Toy store in Disney Springs last week. I think I saw merchandise elsewhere in Epcot or Disney Springs, too.

There's a Day of the Dead display at the Mexican Pavillion. And I believe the Mariachi Band is playing Coco inspired songs.

I saw Coco merchandise at Animal Kingdom last night at the Mercantile. It was just some basic shirts and such, they had other Pixar clothes too.

When I was at Animal Kingdom the Mercantile had Coco stuff, which somebody mentioned, but they also had some cute plushes of the spirit animals. There's Alex and Ani bangles inspired by Coco, too.

The Starbucks in Hollywood Studios had a Coco inspired cupcake that was adorable.

As the PP's noted, there is indeed Coco merchandise in the stores. We saw some cute stuff at AK a couple of days ago.

We returned home yesterday. As PPs have said- there is plenty of merchandise. Only 'attraction' we saw was the Mariachi band playing Coco themed music in the Mexican pavilion. The EPCOT Times Guide said the performance is 'limited time'- so no idea if they will still be doing it when you get there, but my guess is they will. If you liked the movie- it will be worth seeing it. Also, go into the pyramid. All of the displays are Day of the Dead oriented. This movie just released- so my opinion is that as the days go by there will be more and more themed offerings/merchandise to support the movie.

Over the years, I've noticed it is usually just the opposite. Tons of merchandise available tompromote the films release, but it quickly dissappears after opening weekend. Then, if the film is successful, there is a know new design manufacturing and shipping cycle before more
merchandise makes it to the park.

My belief is the first round is designed and paidfor from a promotional budget and the subsequent rounds are from the regular Disney parks supply line.

This way there is lota of promotion to get that vig opeming boxoffice but if a film bombs, they won't be stuck with a warehouse of unsold merchandise for films like Tomorrowland or The Good Dinosaur.

Depending on the success of the movie, I'd be very surprised if there weren't more Coco related items during the MNSSHP season since it seems tailor made for the occasion. Also, since Día de Muertos usually goes from Oct 31 to Nov 2, I wouldn't be surprised if the current last MNSSHP party (Nov 1) is extended for one more day to Nov 2. It may take a year or 2 for all the Coco related offerings (M&G, etc) to be up and running, but my bet is that it could be even a bigger draw than Jack Skellington and rival the Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise offerings.

Can't agree. This is a holiday movie release- and Disney will back this one full force until at least through the entire holiday cycle and beyond. Another PP also hit the nail on the head with this film- it will be interweaved with the MNSSHP season. The merchandise for this movie isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Disney doesn't plan for their movies to fail- if they did there would be no point in releasing them in the first place. The film grossed over 150 million worldwide in it's first few days, so it is far from a flop. As mentioned in my PP, we just got back. We did a lot of the holiday storytellers- and went to the Coco mariachi presentation as well. We went through Mexico several times over three days (twice to eat as well), and the size of the crowds for the Coco music were much, much larger than for the storytellers- with a large percentage of Latinos in attendance. That said, you are entitled to your opinion. I have never seen what you have noticed, but we all see things through our own lenses so your opinion is just as valid as any other.

Only going from experience. I've been in the parks before and after the openings of multiple films and the stores all have a display beforehand and almost nothing weeks after release.I first noticed it with Wall-E, where merchandise disappeared a week after opening weekend and ever since I've made a note of similar behavior for other films.

If you search around the Dis, you'll find threads complaining about a lack of Moana merchandise in the parks last holiday season and similar complaints for Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Wreck-It Ralph, and Inside Out years before that. This isn't that different than meet and greets for new characters that is usually covered from a promotional budget.

Unfortunately, I don't live a couple of miles from the parks to be able to go to WDW before a film releases- then go back to WDW a couple of weeks after a film releases just to check on merchandise stock. We are 2 hours away- and between dealing with traffic on I-75 and I-4 to get there, and regular life stuff, it means we only go about once every month-and-a-half to two months. The holiday season is an exception to this 'rule', as we just got back a couple of days ago and will return in 2 weeks to be 're-immersed' in the holiday magic that only Disney can create. I know from direct observation that there is massive amounts of Coco merchandise all over the place (which this thread is addressing), and this observation is reinforced by other PPs on this thread. It appears Disney has suddenly decided to profit from their movies by offering merchandise starting with the Coco film, and let a lot of their other recent movies stand on their own without offering merchandise in the parks as you have indicated- or sold out and didn't think it was worth restocking to continue to profit off a given film. Although your direct observations are counter to what I have seen over many, many visits- you are certainly entitled to post what you believe to be true, as am I. If the Coco merchandise has disappeared when we go back in a couple of weeks I will certainly post that information to this thread, but if not- on this issue- we will simply have to agree to disagree.

Not really an agreement/disagreement. This is just my hypothesis, and marketing plans change all the time. But I'll be interested to see the results.

I know it was not WDW in Florida, but I was in California Adventure last Saturday and the "It's tough to be a bug" show was replaced by a Coco show.
