Cocktails at a resort

My solo December trip now includes an old friend. A guy I used to work
at Disneyland with many years ago.

We're both coming in on the same day (Friday Nov 28) but at different
times and even different airports. I'm arriving first and have the day
planned. I'd like to meet for a drink in the evening. Of course DTD is
an option - and maybe the best one - but I thought maybe one of the
resorts would be great. One of MY reasons for going is to see the
Christmas decorations and I want to check out all the resorts, anyway.

Any suggestions? I'm assuming all resorts have lobby bars, right?

If I remember right the value/moderate resorts do not have a lobby bar. Depending on where you are staying there is a nice bar upstairs at the GF and another one at the Poly near Ohana. If you want Xmas decorations, the GF is always done up to the 9s and you have the gingerbread house. Poly has really comfortable areas so you can relax and don't have to sit at the bar. There is a wine bar at the Y&B. The AK bar area is not really all that big and can get noisy with the BOMA check-in/wait area. Same with SSR. You have the Turf Club check in and the pool table there.

Okay, Scat Cat club at POFQ, Atlantic Dance Hall, Raglan Road, Fultons, or any hotel bar. They all have their fun points. . .but for me its the company I keep.

It sure is!

My old roommate and I haven’t seen each other in almost 15 years,
both are Disney fanatics and he hasn’t been to the World since
1980.

I like the idea of meeting at the GF, but the Scat Cat’s club
sounds like fun, too and I’ve never been to POFQ.

If we decide on DTD I think I’ll suggest Fultons.
