Does it get really crowded at MK Fireworks time? Is it a good view of the fireworks...or is the restaurant better?

The cocktail lounge is in the restaurant--all in the same area. It was very crowded last Thurs. (Think about that--a Thurs. in Jan.) The restaurant is huge and every table was filled @ 7:00.

If you want to eat here, make ressies 120 days in advance. It was absolutely delicious.!

Don't forget there are two lounges at the CR. The outer Rim is the lounge by Chef Mickey's & the concourse steak house. You cannot see the firworks from there. And the California Grill lounge is next to the CG, you need reservations to get up to the 15th floor now.

So you need ressies just to have a cocktail? Thanks!:D

Before I went in Dec. I had read this on the AOL travel Boards, I was thinking it couldn't be true. Then when we went to go up for a drink we couldn't get off the 15th floor, it didn't stop there. It was late anyway so we never investigated it any further and just went to the Outer Rim. Maybe someone else knows the deal.

I was there just 2 weeks ago & we were able to go to the 15th floor with no checking of our PS (we did have one), but there were lots of people in the elevator, so I didn't actually press the button to 15. Also very crowded, at 8:30 on Sunday Jan.12th, which is considered slow season & long after the fireworks are over.

That's good to know, thanks! Maybe it didn't work out & they noticed a significant drop in lounge business! ;) was the observation deck open yet?

We were there in December, and saw the fireworks from the observation deck outside the CG every night for 3 nights. We only ate there once. Some elevators in the Contemp. don't go to the 15th floor, so I think that may have been CPM's problem.

BTW, there are 3 different observation decks that you can access from the CG. The least crowded was to the left as you step off the elevators. The view was spectacular. Stop by the lounge and grab a glass of champagne first, though. It somehow made the experience more magical!
