Cobb Salad---still big enough for an entree?

A few years back we went to HBD and I had the Cobb Salad. I believe it was listed on the menu as an entree at the time. Now that it's only listed under apps, has the size of the salad gone down so much that it's no longer big enough for an adult to eat as an entree?

I don't need to be stuffed when I leave (I won't be doing an app), but I don't want to pay $15 for a side salad either.

We were there at the beginning of September. I don't know what the salad looked like before, but I ordered the appetizer size and it was huge! Definitely not the size of a "side salad". I ate about half of the salad and stopped because I wanted to save room for the entree.

Yes, I definitely think it would be a perfect sized entree. I have done it.

Here is a picture of the Cobb from last week. I'd never had it before so I can't compare it to the past, but I thought it was huge! DH and I each got an app then split the salad and we were stuffed. Too stuffed for grapefruit cake, which really broke my heart because I wanted to try it!

Yes you can request things left out. I had mine without bleu cheese (allergy).

IMO - This is the best salad on property! They bring it to your table all pretty and set it down. Then the take it from you and mix it all up into a deliciously light, yet very filling, entree. DH got a fish special entree and I got the cobb salad and we had more than enough food - back in May. It was so good, we're going back next week! And they are sooo accommodating at the signature places, I'm sure you could even replace what you don't like with something else.

Thanks for the responses all! I'm glad to see my favorite salad hasn't changed since our last trip there and I can't wait to have one in a few short months.

This past August I went to the Brown Derby for dinner and ordered their Cobb Salad as my main entree which was very filling.

That salad looks great. I know it is the thing the HBD is most known for. I am planning on going there on my next trip and I will be on the regular dining plan when I go could i get the salad as an entree?

It'll definitely be plenty for an entree. I do it all the time. It does come with warm rolls so that'll help fill you up too.


Funny story about the Cobb Salad at the Brown Derby. My husband hates...nay....detests raw tomato, bleu cheese and avocado. But...the goofball LOVES this cobb salad. Isn't that odd? LOL
