I was at the EXPO for the Pittsburgh Marathon a few weeks ago, and a RunDisney rep was there. She was handing out really cute bags, and there was a display of the medals for all of the Disney races. The C-C medal was AMAZING!! It looks thin and kind of flimsy on the website, but I picked it up and it's almost an inch thick and really heavy! I can't wait to earn mine!!!! :goodvibes

Yes, it's probably the best looking and heaviest medal I've ever gotten.

It is well worth the effort to earn one.

Good luck!

Yup. i will be running for mine in september. then next year going for goofy, tink and the disneyland again. soooo much weight to lose..lol

When they were here for the Honolulu marathon I suggested that they tie in with the Honolulu marathon for the publicity of the opening of Aulani and down road have a run that would tie in with the coast to coast medal.

We are new Aulani owners and would love to plan a trip there with the marathon.

I take it you did it? How was it? Very humid/hot? Anything you can share w/b greatly appreciated.

oh *tear* I spent so much money to fly to WDW for the Princess and when I went to purchase entry into the DL, it was full. I wish Coast to Coaster's had first priority in the DL half. :sad1:

The Honolulu marathon is cool in that it is an open course meaning that you finish when you finish. My first and second marathons were walking. My third and fourth was a run walk combination. Each of the times that I have participated it's been sunny and breezy. I was going to participate in 2007, but instead went to Mousefest. They had pouring rain that day. I look back on the first one with great pride, just under 9 hours to complete the course walking it. I did 7:15 last year.

You might want to check with GET Travel (the official travel provider for the race). Last I heard from them they still had a few spots left if you book a package through them (though that was a number of weeks ago).

If you're in the SoCal area A Snail's Pace has some spots left (last I heard, again that was a few weeks ago) if you pay for their training program.

I have heard that www.gettravel.com still has vacation packages that include race entry. From what I heard, you need to buy at least 1 nights hotel to get a special entry that includes a 1 day admission ticket. I heard it was $199 for the race and ticket. It might be worth giving them a call.
