Coast to Coast and Wine and Dine

I've received an email from Disney that this is not going to be an option for Coast to Coast medal. I'm really bummed about this. I did ToT 13K this year and loved the race, but since I didn't get to make marathon weekend, I'm looking at signing up for Princess (and would run without a female) just due to medal envy. Anyone heard anything differently? I've got room reservation in March, but holding off signing up for Princess. Why, oh why didn't I head to Disneyland last year for the half after doing Goofy?!?

I was really trying to get to CA last year because I knew that it would be the last time for a while that I would do the Goofy. Goofy and DL 1/2 is a pretty costly year.

I would actually be a bit surprised if they had this as an option for the coast to coast in it's inaugural year. The first reason is that the race will sell out in it's inaugural year so it doesn't need the added intensive. Second you have to do the DL run to get the coast to coast and for many people the races are just too close. There are people that can do the two halves a month apart but the mainstream probably can't.

They are ment to be doing a special medal if you complete certain races at WDW this year, but I haven't heard anymore news about it.

I thought in one of their chats they mentioned it would be included, but I've never seen anything else about it.

They also said something about staying tuned to their site when talking about doing the Wine and Dine and one of the races Marathon weekend.

I was wondering the same thing. Doesn't make sense that they won't offer the coast to coast for people who run DL then Wine and Dine...
Too bad because I have someone who would like to run both races and thus get teh extra medal.

I agree that Disney wouldn't include it. They like to end the C2C at DL. If it was the first race and the W&D was the second would be more logistics for Disney. As mentioned, people having to travel to DL and WDW all in a 4 week period(as well as race) is a very small number and not worth them bothering with it.

Agreed, plus leaving it where the C2C ends at DL makes it so Disney doesn't have to stock the C2C medals in California & Orlando.

They seem to be holding firm and like others are saying it looks like there will be some other type of medal for doing multiple halfs at WDW. I hope it's better than that race series medal.

I could see an extra medal a bit like the Heavy Medal Series that the Rock N Roll Marathons do. Instead of just being one option like the C2C it could very depending on how many races you do.

Medal 1 for doing 2 halves at WDW
Medal 2 for doing all 3 halves (January, Princess, Wine & Dine)
Medal 3 for doing 1 Full and 1 Half
Medal 4 for doing 1 Full and 2 halves
Medal 5 for doing 1 full and 3 halves (includes the goofy)

It could be xxx magical miles instead of xxx musical miles like they do for the RnR series.

I know that last year it didn't matter that the Princess was an inaugeral run, it was included in the C2C.

I would think like someone said it may ahve to do with the fact that they are so close together. I don't know. I could definately see them not including it for the relay option, but maybe they will include it next year?
