Coach People--anyone recognize this pattern?

I bought this wallet at a Garage Sale today. I bought it because I liked the colors and the wallet set up. But I am curious about the "Coach" label on it. I wanted to try to find the pattern name and find out the age of it etc.. But I have searched all over and can't find anything in this pattern. (and who knew there was "The Purse Forum"??) I am starting to think that this may be a faux Coach. I really don't care, I am just curious. Anyone recognize this?

First off, I LOVE the Purse Forum. There are a lot of knowledgable people over there.

Secondly, I think the wallet may be from a line made for the outlet stores. I bought a wristlet with the same pattern a couple of years ago. I am pretty sure the colors are the same, but not 100%. Maybe you can search out spring outlet collections, and see what you come up with.

I don't know much about Coach...a bit too expensive for me, but I love the pattern. If is a faux, at least it's a nice pattern!

Its Hampton stripe and it is an older pattern. I can't tell from your pics if its authentic but Coach did have that pattern years ago.

Both of my Coach Wallets are stitched exactly the same way. The emblem embossed on the front looks the same too, except for the writing between the name COACH and the EST. 1941. Mine has no writing in between, but it may just be a different year or style. But not all pieces have the emblem anyway.

I think it looks real.

But look at the logo on the front. It's over to the left. All the authentic wallets I see are very centered.

I am not an expensive purse person. I have a $20 bag from Target I have been using for a few years that I love! I do have a thing for wallets, but still am a cheapskate.

This was $5 and like the layout of it and the summer colors. But the leather is really nice--like butter! DH examined it last night and said that if it isn't a real Coach it doesn't matter cause it is still very high quality. I did clean it up some last night. It was a bit dingy from use.

I'm not going to spend a lot of time researching it (unless someone thinks it is worth a few hundred on ebay! ). I may post it on the purse forum though just to see what they say.

i remember that one... about 4 years old i think... my sister has a wristlet in that pattern.

it looks authentic to me. usually the lines on fakes are a bit off and it looks pretty even. the stitching on real ones can be off on the corners. it is on a couple of mine, but they're real. stop by your local coach shop to see if they can recommend someone to clean it. you'll be able to tell if it's real if they give you the name of a reputable cleaner. if it's a fake, they'll usually brush you off.

You are right.
On an authentic Coach that would be exactly in the center. They are very precise with stuff like that, C's will always line up on a signature pattern, stitching will always be perfectly straight, etc.

I'm not sure if the outlets carry seconds, if so it could possibly be from there. If you really need to know OP you could take it to a Coach store and they will be able to tell you. Either way, its really cute and you got a great deal so enjoy it!!

According to the Purse Forum it is a fake. They said it looks like Soho Stripe but that a wallet wasn't make in that, and that the interior layout isn't correct.

That is fine with me. I am farly abusive to my everyday stuff. Now I don't have to worry about ruining a genuine Coach wallet!

I agree! I've also never seen that pattern before..I stalk Coach's site religiously and that one doesn't look like one I've seen before.

It is an adorable wallet though! And what a great deal!! Very Springy! I would have bought it too, real or not for that price! My wallets get so beat up, I hate to spend lots of money on them.

Not an expert either, but right away I noticed that the "Coach" stamp isn't centered on the front of the wallet.

Edited: Oops, you already noticed that. It still is a cute wallet for $5.
